  • Dumb TV!
And I say that in a totally positive way. I didn't need a smart TV, so I went with this. Picture is really clean, sound is decent, slim profile, light enough to mount on my wall, and works as I need it to work. I have a separate streaming device that I can hook into one of the HDMI ports. I want to watch streaming content, and otherwise just use it to watch cable shows. The menus are not overly complicated with tons of unnecessary settings and features. You get what you need to watch your shows. Period. The remote control it comes with is not backlit, which is one small drawback, but I typically use my cable remote anyway. There are quite a few functions available on the remote itself, many of which I don't even use. If you're just looking for a decent, solid hi-def TV for a great price, consider this one. One other thing I really like about this TV is that it turns on quick - no need to wait for a long startup process before you can start watching your show. A few seconds for the splash screen to show, then right to your video. There's a few things that you can choose to customize further when you first set it up (aside from setting the time), but pretty much turn it on, switch to whatever input your video is plugged into, and you're all set! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy... ... show more

  • Great for it's price
As long as you have your own sound system and you're trying to stay away from smart TV's this is exactly what you are looking for. Only down side is the splash logo that comes on momentarily when switching channels & inputs. Picture quality is good - but definitely not worthy for cinephiles or gamers The color depth and contrast ratio is lacking. Good enough for casual use / sports ... show more

  • Great UHDTV and can't go wrong for the price.
It cost 1/3rd the price I paid for the first Sceptre HDTV I bought in 2004, yet it is even bigger. For TV, the colors are fine out of the box, but to use it as a computer monitor, on my Mac I had to make a new color profile for it. And I had to adjust the color settings, but it is looking really good. (Brightness = 50, Contrast = 37, Backlight = 75, Color = 69, Tint = -37, Sharpness = 57, ScreenSize = Full100%, Dynamic Contrast = On, Film Mode = On, Video Noise Reduction = High, DT Noise Reduction = High, MEMC Setting = On, White Balance R=124,G=120,B=115, and offsets are 1024). I'm not saying that it is perfect or what a calibration device would come up with, but it looks good and passes the calibration tests on-line. The MEMC setting is supposed to allow the TV to simulate 120Hz refresh rates by smoothing out the motion. The screen does not have a matte finish to it, so if you have sunlight coming through windows or lights in the room, it will reflect when the screen has a dark scene. I also found out that my Sony stereo remote has some of the same commands, so the power button on the remote will now turn on both the TV and the stereo. It isn't the fastest to boot up though. I clocked it at 18 seconds when hooked up to my MacBook. I haven't hooked it up to a 4K video source yet. But, it does great at 1920x1080. I am very happy with this TV so far. I also ordered it on a Friday and it showed up the next Wednesday a week early. ... show more

  • No smart wifi garbage
It's got the main thing down, no apps and wifi junk. But the sound is pretty bad. I played with the equalizer and everything It's just bad. Looking into a surround sound system, to mke up for it

  • Great screen, horrible speakers. Good value.
This is the second Scepter TV I’ve owned and have found that they are definitely worth the money. Picture quality is great. It’s very thin and serves us well in the family room. The biggest issue it has is the sound. Its sound is terrible and that is no hyperbole. You’ll want to invest in some sort of sound system or you’ll find yourself getting frustrated with its weak, hallow sound. You’ll often have to turn the volume all the way up just to hear dialogue clearly. ... show more

  • Still good after 18 months
After 18 months of working fine, my Spectre 55" lost picture and sound while playing through Apple TV4K. No other TV inputs worked either. After some investigating, it turns out there an issue between the TV and Apple TV 4K which messed up the entire TV. Once the Apple TV was moved to a different TV (where it worked fine) and hard reset, the Spectre TV was back to working fine. Don't throw it away without thoroughly checking it! ... show more

  • Buy Miss Spectre
The only thing that isn’t with this television is Roku but that’s my bad… Otherwise it has lived up to all of my expectations. For the value in excellent choice
