It's such an easy hat-it instantly looks perfect! It's supple, has curled-up sort of fun, bouncy brim. Fit was fine for me and comfortable, no itching. The quality seems really good for a casual hat. The band is substantial and is lined with two woven strips that keep the entire band from settling on the skin so it can breathe. The color is tea, pretty much like the amber-brown you'd see in your teacup, although in some online photos, tea looks lighter. It's not wheat or blonde. It would be fabulous with red or denim but will probably go with anything. I haven't tried to pack it so, I don't know about that. ... show more

The style, color and weight of this hat are all good and it generally stays on your head. The only shortcoming is the hat needs adjustability, even with my large head and lots of hair, it’s a bit loose but the weight keeps it on my head. Either an elastic band or a string would be helpful for a more secure fit. Otherwise it is a great hat and nice addition to my collection. ... show more

I have red hair and blue eyes, so wearing a hat is a necessity. My first SCALA Rafia Hat I had since 1996, and it just start to become undone around one edge...so it lasted 23 years. I was due for a new one, and it's the exact same one. It's not too big, it's crushable so it's easy to pack or stuff in your purse. I can wear this with EVERYTHING in the summer from dress-up to casual. I hope this one will last 23 years like my other one....even if it doesn't I'll still get another one. ... show more

This is my wife's favorite hat and she's used it for years on our many rafting, fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, and gardening adventures (see photos of the hat in action). After so much exposure to sun, rain, hail, wind, etc., and being stuffed in bags, packs, and boats, it had started show some minor wear (this is a compliment and not a complaint as this hat really endured a lot of punishment). Anyway, I bought her a new one, and she is very happy. The old one will still get regular use, but the new one looks nicer for our more civilized outdoor activities. A great all-purpose (and very hardy) hat for the outdoors that protects you from the elements (and especially the sun) while always looking good. ... show more
