I love having pretty nails (the only "beauty" thing I really do, no makeup, simple kinda girl). Due to health issues, my nails have become brittle and regular polish just wasn't doing it. I didn't want to go back to acrylic or builder gel in my nails because they are a lot of work and nails have not liked it the last few times I have tried. I didn't want to go thru the trouble of gel polish removal, the chemicals and uv light stuff. It was suggested that I try dip power. Being a "do it yourself" kinda girl and frugal (like to change my nails more often than what would be cost effective paying someone to do them, I decided to give this kit a chance. Did my first set yesterday. Was super easy! Easy to control and clean up. I am very happy with how they came out, not too bed for my first try. The main color is not what I thought it would be but nice and pleasant looking. Can't wait to see how they wear (I type a lot and am a big time crafter)and check out the other colors. This dip powder is very user friendly. It can be a little scary to work with at first, but once you get the hang of it you can go very fast. I used a paper plate to catch any powder. This is great for eliminating mess & you can even pour the leftover back in the bottle. If you miss a spot, use a little spoon or your nail tool & pour over the spot you missed. Make sure to use the included fan brush. I started to use a different one & it dented the product. Once you have done your nail, before activating it, use a tool to clean up your cuticle. You can even fix any smudges or dents as it is a little pliable. If you see any problems after activating, apply more powder & buff it down with a file. You can use a plunge method or scoop the powder over your nail. After the first application I got down a fast system. The red set you see is the first application. I scuffed up the nail & did the blue on top. Total wear time was over a month before I changed nails. This is the best application for chunky glitter. It goes on thick enough that you get a good even application. I had no chipping or cracking. My only complaint is the top coat is not as shiny as I would like. I follow it up with a separate top coat. I received this product for free to test & review. I used this over plastic tips which were scuffed & prepped. Definitely a MUST TRY... Definitely worth the price. They give everything you need and the colors are TRUE. When they say WHITE you get WHITE.. not light gray lol (sorry, that happened to me with another company.. wasn't pleased). I got it in a timely fashion and used the dips twice. I forgot to take a picture of my last set but it's cool. I don't know how to make my nails gelish so it could be user error and not the product. Only thing I would change is bigger bottles but you get what 10 dips and the starter set with 2 polish brushes an Emory board the cuticle push and a brush for less than $30... yeah this is amazingly awesome. I've used other products and not all bad. This by far is one of the better products. I am not sure of their variety of colors but once I find them im definitely purchasing more. And the packaging is soooi chic! I LOVE IT!!!! I'm frugal so instead of investing $40+ a month to get my nails done I bought this set and it will last me heck the whole year if I don't switch up the colors too much... Seriously ladies, save your money and learn to do your own nails... I'll keep going for a pedicure though lol... ... show more

I used the glow in the dark kit and ordered the Lavender Violets Dip Powder Essentials Kit Step 1-4 for the dip base, activator and top. Don’t forget to buff and they do glow in the dark. This is day 2 and they are still going strong.

I used a different brand of dips but tried these liquids because that other brand gives me horrible "dip flu," which is essentially an allergic reaction. I normally have to wear a respirator type mask to prevent the symptoms, but when I used these for swatching and doing my manicure, I had no problems at all and I didn't even use a mask. It's really great to find dip liquids I don't react to. Everything came out great. The only thing to note, like with most dip liquids, make sure your activator is totally dry before doing the top coat or you can harden the brush. Luckily, Saviland throws in a couple extra to switch out if you mess that up. ... show more

I love the variety of colors and that this kit comes with everything you need to do an entire home manicure in one kit. The powders are so creamy the coverage is super smooth. One dip is enough for full coverage but you should do at least two for strength. It was so easy to use because the powders were so smooth I was able to continue with limited buffing/filing. I highly recommend this kit if you want to start doing your nails at home. I will never go back to gel! The dip powder is so easy to use! You just need to have a steady hand and take your time! My only complaint is the activator does seem to take a while to fill harden the nails. Use a file to shape it and then use a buffer once it does fully harden or else you’re gonna have your nails feel gritty. Easier than I thought it would be. It was pretty fun and therapeutic although it was not salon quality. The base (step one) is really thick so be mindful if thick nails is not your thing. The activator (step two) is just the opposite. Hardly any of the product comes out on the brush. I even shook the bottle a few times to hear if there was anything in there. The colors are a little off- bit exactly as pictured. Overall it was fun to use and my nails turned out okay. I'm sure I'll get better with practice. It was a week before the product started to chip off near my cuticles. I would recommend to anyone tired of going to the salon and looking for something new. ... show more
