Savage gear has stepped up their game with the line through baits. I was sceptical about the principle of the idea until my first hook set. It worked exactly as advertised. The bait slid up my line and my PB Larry was hooked perfectly with a treble hook.

The eye of the hook doesn’t line up with the hole on the lure. Lower quality than the mullet version. Mullet goes to my tackle box, but this trout straight to the trash.

I was excited to use this lure from Savage Gear but unfortunately the packaging did not include the leader system as described in the product information. I installed a brand new one that I had to purchase separately and the lure simply will not swim straight. It appears that the line thru holes in the bait are not allowing the leader to sit in the center and is dragging it to one side. It's a cool looking bait but since I cannot use it to catch fish then it sadly is of no use to me and was a poor purchase. Hope everyone has better luck with it than I. ... show more
