  • Okay with one big caveat
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
I’d give this a 3 Star. The product looks great, the lift top mechanism works fantastic even with a bunch of weight on it. However the bottom and shelf of the unit as it attaches to either side/legs is junk. Once you put it down somewhere don’t move it! Usually when using cam locks one side screws into a hole and the otherside goes into the cam then gets tight when the cam is turned. In this case the screw assembly just slides in and out of the hole. It’s completely lose. So if you try and move the table the sides will separate from bottom. I don’t see this lasting longer than 6mo to a year. ... show more

  • Works great for homework and eating dinner casually
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
Took a few hours to put together. No man help! Institutions are simple to follow-the pictures help. I've posted a picture of it closed and open. Works great for homework and eating dinner casually. I have small children so I'm concerned about the pointy corners, but haven't had an incident yet.

  • very sturdy and heavy
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
I have been eyeing this coffee table out since July when I bought the matching TV stand/cabinet (which is also gorgeous). This is a very inexpensive coffee table, very sturdy and heavy, and the lift up top (which I thought I wouldn't like) is actually an amazing feature. The coffee table took about 2 hours to assemble... assembling is rather easy, just cumbersome because of the weight of the pieces. The table is a great size and fits as wide as 2 couch cushions (so probably as wide a a love seat). I also like the storage features in this coffee table. I wish I had bought it sooner. I highly recommend but if you aren't one for assembling products, you may want to pay the extra fee for assemblage. The photos I posted also show the sauder tv stand. ... show more

  • Absolutely love this item
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
Absolutely love this item! Took me about 3 hours to put it together alone. The instructions were very easy to follow. I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy and heavy the table is. In all it is everything I hoped for. Also the shipping was very fast. I ended up getting the table 2or 3 days earlier then my estimated delivery date. ... show more

  • Excellent table and features and very easy to assemble
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
My favourite piece. I ended up with this style (craftsman oak) because I couldn't find a coffee table in the salt oak online or locally and this was 'close enough' -but more importantly it has the lift-top I've been wanting and given the prices of these things generally, the price I got this for was totally worth it. The ONLY bad thing is, after having it set up and using it and looking at it assembled, I really like this look and feel way more than my other pieces, which are all the Sauder salt oak. WOOPS! Oh well, it is what it is, I love the salt oak but this style is even nicer! It feels and looks more natural, smooth but not shiny like the salt oak's laminate type covering. Assembly was super easy, easiest out of all the pieces I assembled this week (dresser, nightstand, headboard, tv stand) HOWEVER when it came to attach the lift top to the base, it was a challenge because I worked on it alone. 2 people obviously would be easier if people have steady hands, however I some pretty sturdy clamps with rubber grip handles on them so I clamped them to the base and used the handles to hold the lid steady while I got the screws and hinges in place -definitely use something with grip if you're going to prop/balance this because this surface is slippery despite its appearance and light texture. It probably added 10 minutes of fussing with it than it would have otherwise if I had thought to do this initially or bribed someone to come over -but sometimes that becomes a bigger hindrance than it's worth. One caution on this, okay two... 1 is, if you're working alone, get the finished base pretty much where you want the piece to sit and do the final assembly there, the piece has some weight to it and is cumbersome with that lift top. 2 is if you're going to have stuff on the table top and then lift it, that stuff better have some kind of grip or it's going to be one big slip n slide. Fortunately it was just a bottle of powerade that was closed when it launched off the table top when I went to test it. Also, there could be some additional horizontal braces to stiffen this up a bit. If you don't close / open it with your hands along the sides or evenly from the edge facing you, it's going to wobble and shimmy -I'm sure that may be a big reason this was $140ish and others I've seen are $400 plus- but for my needs, it will be fine and aesthetically, it looks awesome. It does tie well with my couch and the other pieces that are the salt oak instead of craftsman, and I'm very happy with it overall. Took about 2 hours to assemble. ... show more

  • Expensive particle board didnt last a month
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
+Very nice looking, fairly easy to assemble, easy to read and follow instructions. -particle board with a coating. * UPDATE: 12/23/18. 6:18PM TOTAL GARBAGE, My wife just moved it slightly to vacuum getting the house ready for company and the entire bottom falls off the table, guess your particle board isnt time tested. I either need a new table or my money back. I'll be in contact after the holiday. Table is less than a month old and anchors tore right out of the particle board. Even tho they put "oak" in the title so people who dont know woodworking think it's a nice table. ... show more

  • Terribly long to assemble using over 54 parts plus the ...
Color: Craftsman Oak Finish
Terribly long to assemble using over 54 parts plus the major pieces and two hours. Instructions are sprinkled with comments about patience. They ask you not to use a power tool so you can experience the painful process of assembling something that was obviously designed on a computer and shipped overseas for assembly without usability/functionality testing. They do not follow engineering rules on not flipping diagrams. The table top assembly diagram is incorrect in that they flipped the image but not the actual assembly perspective. The details are incorrect. Result is installing the table top initially incorrectly. They must know this happens often because they caution here - and only here - the importance of installing the screws/parts correctly... News to the manufacturer: if this is a frequent occurrence maybe it is not the consumer but the drawing. My suggestion is to observe five people assemble one of these in front of you without prior coaching or assistance and just relying on the diagram. The fastening hardware is so antiquated and painful to use. ... show more
