I highly recommend this desk. I work from home and needed a real office space. This desk fit the bill. It’s beautiful. It’s sturdy. Its roomy. Most of all, it was easy to assemble. It’s heavy. 132 pound. You will need a couple of people and a dolly to move it. My advice, follow the directions. Lay out all the pieces and make sure you have everything before you start. I had one piece that wasn’t labeled, but I was able to figure out where it went. Make sure each piece that you are putting together is oriented in the same direction as in the picture. If you follow the directions, you won’t have any problems. Took me about 3 hours total to assemble. My only complaints are 1) the bottom of the legs don’t have any pads, it’s just raw wood. 2) it has a strong plywood smell that hopefully won’t last too long.     • Great piece of furniture, but be prepared to put in some time with the assembly.

Great desk! Very heavy, and very sturdy. Plenty of room, but it wish it had about 6" more depth. It took me about 4-5 hours for assembly. The key to a successful installation is to to a careful inspection and inventory of all parts before beginning. Next, just take your time. Don't rush through it and you won't have any problems. It's not too difficult for one person to do, but there are one or two places when having a second person would have helped. Also, watch some of the video's here on Amazon for assembly tips. If I had not done so, I would have spent a lot longer than I did in trying to mount the desktop. About the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that a few of the pieces were not labeled. However, by carefully studying the parts and the instructions you should be able to figure it out. ... show more

Beautiful and fills the space nicely. Looks classy without the classy price tag. Nice space to work in plenty of room to spread out documents and desk accessories. Drawers glide in and out nicely. Note as the description says that it is a file cabinet with an additional drawers. Not 4 drawers. My husband did not like that the file cabinet added 3 fake drawers but I enjoyed the look and thought it looked classy. I knew it was only two per the description. The matching file cabinet to the right in the photo is a beautiful addition. I would recommend this desk if you are looking for something that doesn’t look like a cheap gaming or walmart desk but also does not have the price tag of classy looking desks. ... show more

I have been looking for a bigger desk for my office for a while and for the price of just the desk on the Sauder website I was able to get the desk and matching file cabinet on Amazon. The furniture was packaged very securely and there was no damage. The only issue I had is that I was missing some of the cam screws for the file cabinet which the company did send to me at no additional cost. This is exactly what I needed for my office and the storage space was what I was looking for also, I also wanted a desk that didn’t have a lot of open space and this delivers in total. It probably took me about 16 hours to put both pieces together because I did it on my own and you have to look at those instructions very well to make sure you are assembling everything correctly. I would definitely make more purchases of this brand in the future. The only reason I gave it a four on the ease of assembly is because you definitely have to have extra set of hands when you go to put the top part of the desk on the base to make sure it’s aligned with all of the cam screws. ... show more

Beautiful sturdy desk. Gives me plenty of room for my sewing machine and serger. My husband has a masters degree in enginnering and it took him 7 hours to assemble it. Believe me he followed the 46 pages of directions. Yes it is worth it!

For the price, I think it’s great. I love the style and it’s exactly what I was looking for. The instructions were spot on and although it took me several hours to put together, I was doing it alone and I’m just a few years away from retirement so lots of things take me longer. :-). It’s obviously not as sturdy as an oak desk but it’s sturdy for average office use. Many in this price range are not. I would definitely recommend. ... show more

I recently purchased this desk. The box unassembled is over 130 pounds. Sorry again to my poor Amazon delivery guy. I have 4, 24 inch monitors and a laptop on the desk. It is a very good size. I wasn't ready to invest in a solid wood desk and monitor arms, so this was a very suitable alternative for my needs. Just a warning about the desk, The holes in the desktops for cable management will not fit DVD-i or VGA monitor cables if you use the plastic molding pieces. I ended up not using the cable management holes at all as my monitors had to sit directly on top of them to fit how I wanted and running cables or using the molding piece would cause my monitors to be off balance, so this didn't end up even mattering in my case. Assembly: I suggest having both a hand screwdriver to tighten the "hidden cams" and a power tool. Directions suggest a hammer. I think a mallet is preferable, but a normal hammer is fine if you aren't being silly. Also, this is a multi-hour project. 4-8 hours depending on your proficiency and dedication. Before you even start, go to the store, get at least 10 quantity of 10(gauged? sized? I don't know the proper term) x 2inch length wood screws, and 8 quantity of 8 gauged x 1 3/4inch wood screws(These may not be needed, all the holes for these ones seems to be pre-drilled properly, but a couple bucks for peace of mind was worth it for me). I spent over an hour trying to get the screws the desk ships with to work, before buying new screws that took 5 seconds to get to work. Keep all your foam when assembling, it is used in the directions for lining/providing support during assembly. My entire living room was covered in parts during assembly. It will be easier for you if you have a wide open carpeted space to work with where you plan to stand up the desk. I stood the desk up in the spot I was planning to have it, and I cannot speak to how safely it would be able to be moved to another location. ... show more
