Look, there's no way to compare price to quality to ease of assembly in any complete form without reading reviews. So, when someone rates stars to product, that could mean anything. And there's nothing wrong inherently with the product for the price point. That's worth mentioning. You're saving 50-200 by going with this than not. But the assembly.... Good grief. It's not that it's the most difficult thing in the world. It's that it's the most time consuming and precision-demanding product I've ever had to put together in relation to how long it really -should- take. I put together a similar bookshelf in dimension and features the day before. The product you're looking at is far more demanding of time, tool necessity, and precision in construction. It's like the first was Kindergarten and this AP Calculus. Again, simply in terms of time and ease. Do not buy this unless you have a power drill with a Phillips #2 bit. I have one and I still found it to be a labor of impatience. Look, you know there are reviews of everything requiring self-assembly and attention to quality versus price. And you're never quite sure of the human behind the review. That's OK. Hopefully my ability to write and spell properly counts for something. But I can say this... The product you're viewing is just fine for the price but takes the most time you've ever needed to put a bookcase together. By far. And I'll always look at it for the pain in the soul it was. Save some bucks, and it's fine. Care about your time? It's a black hole. They really could have tried to make this more straightforward. ... show more

This bookshelf is sturdy and the doors at the bottom are a nice touch. It was very easy to assemble and I love the way it looks in my apartment. I highly recommend this bookshelf to those readers that need to store away all of those books while sprucing up the aesthetics of your home.

It took me a little while to assemble, but that is to be expected. I was able to put it together and it looks great in my den. Nothing was machined wrong or broken. All my books fit perfectly.

Very good. I highly recommend this bookcase. May take awhile to put together but to me putting things like this is fun. And I feel a sense of accomplishment. And my apt looks so much nicer.
