I got these for hiking, not running. An average hike for me is somewhere in the 10-15 mile range and around 2500' in elevation gain. I've never had a blister with these and they're comfortable to wear, though I did swap the insert with one specifically for hiking. They work well on rocky terrain, soft dirt, overgrowth (leaves and grass), and mud, and while they're not ideal for icy surfaces, they're definitely better than regular sneakers and you probably need spikes to safely hike through ice anyway. I wear an 8-1/2 Wide in most athletic shoes but sized up to a 9 because my feet tend to swell when I hike. I've probably put around 150 miles on these in the past few months and they're in excellent condition so I expect them to last me through next year's hiking season as well. I'll definitely re-purchase. These worked better than the hiking shoes (I prefer shoes to boots) I used previously.

I only buy and wear Saucony excursion shoes because they work well with the inserts I need to put inside them. I also need wide width. I usually get the excursion 12's and thought these would work just as well being in the same line, but these are different. They aren't as wide or as deep. They are wearable but I'm really hoping they stretch out because they are tight. Not sure if a bigger size would have made a difference but I really wish I would have tried a half size bigger.

These are a great crossover shoe. Meaning, they are great for walking, all day wear, and all terrain. I bought these to trail hike in the desert. I have noticed that on paved trails,(particularly asphalt or pavement that has moss) if the trail is wet, the shoe will slip and slide. Not wanting to fall, I just walk on the side of the trail where there is dirt. Still a great shoe for a great price.

I have worn Saucony sneakers for years. Now that I'm older, I needed a version that had more support. These fit perfectly and I like that they are more of a trail sneaker than a traditional running shoe. Very happy with this purchase and will be buying another pair for the gym.

I found these at an outlet store near me for twice the price. It's a great trail shoe. It's my first trail shoe, and I find it's comfortable and well made. It's a little roomy, but I have narrow feet and thick cushioned socks perfect the fit.
