The Kinvara is a good shoe for tempo runs and all types of intervals when you do not want a plated shoe. It would likely be a good race shoe as well, although I personally prefer a carbon or nylon plate for racing. The fit is as expected. Breathability is excellent. Wet surface traction is better than average. The upper is very comfortable. Weight is pretty light. Some people use the Kinvara as a daily trainer. I find that it has too much energy return for slow runs. The shoes just want to go fast. They work great at tempo runs, threshold runs, and intervals runs. The Kinvara works best when combined with a slow run shoe (and maybe a race day shoe) in a rotation based on the type run that is scheduled.

This is my third pair of Kinvara's. They are low drop and very light weight. I put a lot of miles on them and they have held up well. They dry quickly and keep you feet cool.

I don't like hyper-minimalist shoes with no support, but I also get annoyed with 12mm drop options that feel so heavy and over padded. This is an awesome middle ground between the two that gives some comfort and support without feeling like too much. The 4mm drop on this light shoe is a great option for that middle ground. I've purchased 2 pairs of this now and use it as my main marathon training option.

Very light neutral shoe has enough cushion for on road use. Love the shoe for slow and fast training grippy enough for any paved are smooth gravel trails. Would highly reccomend for the price point.

In the age of running super shoes, these are very basic. If you need a lot of padding, a high heel drop, or more of a rocking motion to your shoes, these aren't for you. I use them in my rotation for trail races and short, speedier workouts.
