Absolutely loved these shoes. Wish they still made this model.

  • Want to break your PR's? Buy these
First off I will say this is my first speed/tempo run shoe (and also first Saucony, I think?). So I can only compare to my recent daily trainers (cumulus, floatride energy,& 880v11). That being said, I'm continually amazed at how well I run in these shoes. I'm typically about an 8:30-8:45 / mile guy. This shoe has dropped that by about a full minute, absolutely crushing my PR's (multiple times)! It's hard to explain exactly why but the shoe just wants you to go fast plain and simple. As a heel striker (like to the umpteenth degree) it took me a little bit of an adjustment and was even a little weary when buying if these would be right for me at all. The shoe pushes you to more of a mid foot or even toe strike, but for me it's more of a heel/mid foot strike if that makes any sense. Either way it def changes you're stride a bit to where it should be for optimal speed push. And the energy return from the shoe is very noticeable. I'm amazed when I look at my pace every time as it feels like marginally more effort than with my regular trainers yet considerably better splits. The final test for me was doing a 10 miler in this show (in the pouring rain mind you) and it did not disappoint! This shoe is great on the road. The only bad I can say is it's meh on dirt and trails as you just don't get the same energy return that the shoe is designed for. As a lot of people said it's def also not for workouts where you will be making sharp cuts and turns. For what it's worth I also love the blue colorway! Def will be paying more attention to Saucony and this line in particular for the future. ... show more

I was in the market for a fast pair of running shoes to replace my NB rebel V2 which I wasn’t completely sold on. After researching this category among the online sources available I decided to give these a go. I previously used saucony before so no stranger to the brand known for making good quality running shoes. Upon receiving them first off I was impressed with the overall quality. The fit was spot on and hugged my foot in all the right places. Enough room at the toes for when you push off, and the heel counter was a perfect fit. The new combination of foam that they use in sole produced a cushioned ride with plenty energy return. There was more pop in the legs when running. I imagine that the nylon plate has something to do with this. Also the rocker shape of the sole makes for a fast transition from heel to toe, much faster than my rebel V2. Although they are no racing flats they are light and they will probably become my racing shoe for my 5k runs. At this stage of my life I am no longer trying for PB. So a combination of cushioning and speed works for me. I admit I just received them so just a few miles on them . I will update review once I add miles. One last thing. Price wise they are up there but not comparable to carbon plate shoes which are very fast and VERY expensive. These are a notch down but that’s ok, they still put a smile on my face. And yes the color makes them faster. ... show more

  • Great shoes
My son runs cross country and mid/long distance track for his high school team. He has used these shoes for several years. He runs about 60-65 miles a week during the season so he is able to get about 300-400 miles on the shoes before they break down and need to be replaced. They have a nylon plate in the shoe which should help decrease strain on the lower legs to improve recovery. This is supposed to help improve your training tolerance. There is no magic pill though so you have to be a good athlete, have good coaching, nutrition, etc. They are not the current "super shoes" that Nike and a few other brands that have a carbon plate. Saucony does have a carbon plated shoe, but it costs a lot more. It's a good shoe and reliable company. I would definitely recommend this shoe for high level runners due to the cost. ... show more

  • Best long distance running shoes I've ever tried
I started running 10 years ago, as lot of us, after a few 10k runs, I tried my first Half marathon and soon after start running Marathons. Since I needed a light and cushioned shoe, for my first marathon (in 2015) I decided to use a pair of Hoka Clifton (first model) the Cliftons were really good and I keep using them for many years, with different feelings about the several new Clifton editions (the best for me were the Clifton 3 and 7), until I read in some reviews about the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 and I decided to try a new model for my 11th marathon last year. After my first trying sessin I realized that the Speed were marvelous, and after my first long distance run I was convinced that they will be the ones I will try in that next 11th marathon. 700 km later of that first pair they are still in good shape and I still have them for my long run training sessins. I bought another pair of them just to use for my next marathon (the 13th) in Chicago, 10 days from now... Oh, I almost forget to say: I beated my personal best in that 11th marathon with the Speed 2, after five years of trying... ... show more

  • Mind blown🤯
Picture 1: Saucony Endorphin Speed II Picture 2 : First run with Speed II Picture 3: Previous two mile prior to shoes, roughly 2 weeks ago. First pair of plated running shoes I've ever used and I LOVE them. Did my research prior to purchase and decided to buy them. Initial Reaction: comfy and snug. When I first ran with them, I planned on running three miles. One for warm up and two for time. Let me tell you, when I started jogging, these shoes made me run. Instead of running the three miles, I ran the two for time. My first mile was my fastest ever and the second mile... Almost 40 seconds faster. Granted, there was an old man that saw me and gave me words of encouragement, but nevertheless, these shoes are a game changer. Cons: As other reviewers stated, feels a bit unstable, was hesitant when making sharpish turns at repetitively fast speed. Pros: Fast AF, makes you run, comfy and snug fit, cheap. Bought these, which were the cheapest color, for $80. Final Thought: Pros definitely outweigh the cons. Get your bang for your buck. Also has different color schemes for a little more cost. Would 100% purchase again. ... show more
