I had been intrigued by all of the talk surrounding running shoes with carbon plates….and how they help propel or return your energy. I was skeptical. At $300 a pair and limited longevity I wasn’t that interested in experimenting. Along comes THIS shoe with it’s more affordable nylon plate. I gave it a try and literally set records on almost every run….and I wasn’t even consciously trying. They have plenty of cushion and like another reviewer wrote “Every time you lace these up, you have the potential for a great run.” I’ve recommended these to a few friends who have enjoyed the same results. First time trying a plated shoe. Definitely a different experience, the shoe definitely makes you want to go fast. The speed roll and nylon plate definitely help propel you forward a bit. Have taken them for (2) 6 mile runs, (1) 8 mile run and (1) 18mi run and I dig em. I have a wide foot and even the normal width felt ok on my foot. I did order a size up as I do for all my running shoes to accommodate for swelling. I normally wear a 9.5-10 and ordered these in a 10.5 and they fit great. ... show more

I was in the market for a fast pair of running shoes to replace my NB rebel V2 which I wasn’t completely sold on. After researching this category among the online sources available I decided to give these a go. I previously used saucony before so no stranger to the brand known for making good quality running shoes. Upon receiving them first off I was impressed with the overall quality. The fit was spot on and hugged my foot in all the right places. Enough room at the toes for when you push off, and the heel counter was a perfect fit. The new combination of foam that they use in sole produced a cushioned ride with plenty energy return. There was more pop in the legs when running. I imagine that the nylon plate has something to do with this. Also the rocker shape of the sole makes for a fast transition from heel to toe, much faster than my rebel V2. Although they are no racing flats they are light and they will probably become my racing shoe for my 5k runs. At this stage of my life I am no longer trying for PB. So a combination of cushioning and speed works for me. I admit I just received them so just a few miles on them . I will update review once I add miles. One last thing. Price wise they are up there but not comparable to carbon plate shoes which are very fast and VERY expensive. These are a notch down but that’s ok, they still put a smile on my face. These shoes are amazing, as someone who owns multiple pairs of running shoes. I can’t recommend these enough. One problem though it’s hard to get used to, especially if you have never run in a shoe with a plate. I recommend you give it some time to get adjusted. Also these shoes are much better at mid to higher speeds as opposed to lower speeds. ... show more

I had read very many good things about the speed2 and took an immediate liking to them when they arrived. I think Saucony provides a variety of colours for those who want something different from the usual shades of black and blue for mens shoes. The shoes are awkward to walk in since they given you the sensation you are walking on balloons. However, when I took them for a run, they were an absolute joy to run in. I have done three runs - two 5Ks and one 8K so far. The shoes provide that peppy, responsive feeling underfoot that you get from the Endorphin Pro but without the ankle strain of a carbon-plated shoe. I know these shoes are designed more for faster runs and not as a daily trainer but so far they are my favourite running shoes. ... show more

Very comfortable running shoes, the nylon plate is nice and springy, makes you want to run in these! Everyone is different, so try on a pair and see if you like them. They fit true to size, colors are cool. When I tried these on in store, I had a new Nike react flyknit on one foot and this shoe on the other, no comparison! Saucony shoe was more comfortable foam in sole and the nylon plate adds a nice springy feeling to get you going! When running I had less foot and leg fatigue. True to size, narrow at mid foot, roomy at the toes. Offers good support, lock down good. Light, springy and love that speed roll. Daily trainer. If you're over 40 these are great for half marathon.

I've come to love the Saucony brand so decided after reading the glowing reviews on the Endorphin Speed 2, I'd give it try. The reviews are in, this shoe actually propels you forward just standing still. My first outing was a 5 mile road run, hills, flats, street running. 1 min under my avg pace for that. Blew my mind. But not as blown as this morning's track run. 3 miles in 26mins = 8:35/per. I'm usually in in the 9:30 to 10:00 zone. I blaming the shoes! ... show more
