    • Weird power split
My fault for not absorbing the diagram... when you plug in two laptops, you don't get 45W on each - you get 60W on one and only 30W on the other, in theory providing <20 volts on port 2. Although my Lenovo gives a Slow Charger error when plugged into the 2nd port, my USB-C power meter does NOT show the 15V that you would expect for 30W output based on USB-PD. So I keep my Lenovo happy on port 1, and plug all sorts of bricks and laptops and phones into the 2nd port. It would seem simpler to split the 100W to 45W/45W, but maybe if you have a 15" gaming laptop you need that 60W from port 1. But the part that makes ME happy is the 2-prong IEC 60320 C8 connector on the back - that means I can plug into loose outlets or multi-outlet adaptors with no need for cheater plugs or a pigtail. ... show more

    • Often have to disconnect and reconnect from mains in order to get full speed changing
This is a very fast charger that charges my Samsung phone, iPad Pro and MacBook Air quickly. Main issue with this unit is that sometime I'd connect my MacBook and it won't charge at all until I disconnect the charger from the mains, wait 10 seconds and reconnect. Samsung phone might also report only fast charging and not super fast charging until I disconnect and reconnect the charger from mains. It happens randomly, about once a day or so. ... show more

Fast ~90w charging on 1 macbook pro 16", but if i plugin a macbook air m1 at the same time, it does not charge both of them anymore. I think it did at first, but now it reliably does not. Both laptops will switch back and forth between charging and not charging every few seconds and neither of them gains any significant charge. Going to give up and look for an alternative charger now. ... show more

Love having 2 usb-c and 1 usb-a port, so convenient! My only gripe is not having a built in portable plug, so have to carry a separate power cable.

This "100W" adapter is well constructed, but could not charge a 16" 2020 Macbook Pro playing Final Fantasy. Without apps running, it charged fine. On the other hand, the stock Apple 96W charger that came with the machine could charge it fine while running the game. The computer was the only item plugged in to the adapter, so it should have had the entire 100W supply. Because I liked the first one of these, I bought a 2nd one. It didn't work any better than the first one, so the lack of power appears to be a design flaw, not a broken or overheated unit. ... show more

    • Cannot be used on an airplane
I've tried this adapter on British Airways, American and United but it does not work. The LED comes on for a second indicating that there is power and then it goes out. Doesn't matter if anything is connected to the adapter or not, When contacting Satechi support the answer I get is: "The chipset in the adapter can identify if the source power will not be able to support the maximum output and turns it off to prevent any energy deficiency. We highly recommend using the adapter in a building or structure." That is a design flaw. I cannot even charge an iPhone at 5W on an airplane with this adapter. ... show more
