E-paper flashes while refreshing the display—that’s how it updates content. The 4.2" screen feels small—how big is it really? It’s measured diagonally and is slightly larger than a standard Post-it note. How long does it take to update? Around 15–20 seconds when using the button and up to 45 seconds for image uploads via the app. Do I need special software? Yes. A Windows-only app is required. You can download it from our Shopify support page. Can I update with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth? Not yet. Updates are done via USB (2.0 or higher) for stable uploads. Why are the images not displaying clearly? This may occur if your image contains subtle color artifacts. For best results, use solid colors with high contrast in PNG format. Will the screen stay on without power? Yes! Once updated, the message remains visible with no power needed. Is it good for frequent updates? E-paper is best for content that changes occasionally—such as picture frame, small menus, QR codes, or status signs. What does the dithering effect on an EPD mean? It’s a method that uses pixel patterns to make images look smoother and show more shades than the display naturally supports. Screen Resolution? 400 x 300 pixels. The nature of E-paper means it has lower resolution compared to TFT, AMOLED, HD, or 4K screens. It has no backlight and is highly energy efficient, making it ideal for long‑lasting signage!
