My son started skateboarding transition and street at 6 years old. It is hard to find a legit board at this age. This is a real deal setup that he used for skating bowls and taking lesson etc. He is now dropping in and carving large bowls, grinding mini ramps, etc and this setup is great. I did change the wheels to a harder wheel for concrete skate park riding. Everything's good as far as the wheels, their plastic and if you're a beginner you don't want plastic wheels, they don't ride smooth and they'll crack over time. I recommend buying a set of wheels with it.
