  • It works with a 2020 MacBookPro with an M1 Chip
Size: 27-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10 with USB-C and Speakers
I had purchased another Monitor through another source. It was supposed to be designed with the MacBook Pro. But it did not work well with the with M1 Chip and kept having problems ( I have a 1st gen MacBook Pro with the M1 Chip) After sending it back 3 times and supposedly having the Motherboard changed, the monitor still did not work. I told them they had to test it with the MacBook Pro with the M1 chip, but they would not. I finally got that company to give me my money back. After more than 6 months screwing around with that company, I ended up buying this one for about 1/2 the price. The Samsung so far has worked flawlessly with the computer since I got the monitor 2- 3 month ago. The only thing that this does not have is a camera in the Screen, and a few less ports in the back. I connect with the USB C cable and not a video cable. If any problems arise, I'll be back to report on them. Epilogue: I am NOT a gamer, and use the monitor for general business, graphic design... ... show more

  • A Near PERFECT Monitor, At An UNREAL Price...
Size: 27-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10 with USB-C and Speakers
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this monitor based on some reviews calling the panel dim, but I'm glad I did anyway. I don't find the panel dim at all in my living room set up. The colors are VIBRANT and text is razer sharp. I've been wanting a 4K monitor that can pivot 90º, and for the $244 I paid there truly isn't a better option on the market. Especially when you factor in that the built in speakers on this model (not present on the S80UA model you get directly from Samsung) are actually VERY decent, with high volume and strong bass. I'm actually blown away. ... show more

  • Returned it the next day
Size: 32-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10
The monitor had a horizontal line and a vertical line of dead pixels from day 1. Initially, I was going to request a replacement. However, I noticed that every time my laptop turned off the screen, as part of the Windows power and sleep setting, the layout of the open program windows reset itself to a default layout, and I had to resize and move the windows. This resetting did not happen with my Dell monitor. I called Samsung to find out if I could modify the settings to have the monitor remember the last screen layout. They suggested that I prevent my laptop from either going to sleep or turning off the screen. I decided to return the monitor for a refund. ... show more

  • USB C is great! - Bright screen once you turn off the Eye Strain and Eco modes.
Size: 27-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10 with USB-C and Speakers
Love USB C - powers / charges my MacBook Air perfectly. Also can plug my iPad Pro (USB C) directly into the display as well. USB ports on the back make it slick for plugging in the USB A dongle for the Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse as well as I purchased a USB A Ethernet adapter to provide dedicated wired connection to my setup. USB C really does make sense. So many displays continue to use HDMI or worse; DisplayPort as their primary connection. Why not use 1 cable from your monitor to your laptop which provides everything (power to your laptop, audio from your laptop to the monitor's speakers, video output, laptop's data connection, and peripheral connections back to the laptop)? - Also a great setup if you share a workspace or have multiple computers you need to use (personal vs work vs family member's computers). Just plug into USB C and everything just works. Screen brightness at first was disappointing until I saw online there are 2 settings you need to disable - 1) Eye Care / Strain setting, 2) Eco Mode. Once disabled, the monitor was super bright. The 4K resolution is great and everything is super crisp and colors pop. HDR - I might be using this setting wrong, but when I enable it, the screen dims significantly to the point where I can't use it. Not using this has not been an issue. Adjustable Stand - I don't understand why manufactures think everyone is the same height or looks at a monitor at the same level. I know you can buy monitor mounts but it seems silly to not just include an adjustable stand to begin with. Luckily this monitor stand adjusts and raises and lowers easily. In the package, both HDMI and USB C cables were included as well as the power cord. Ascetically, this is a very nice, thin bezel monitor. It looks professional and sleek on my desk. I could see where a 2nd one probably makes for a very nice set up. I would recommend if you need a one-stop setup display. ... show more

  • Fixed Brightness Issue
Size: 27-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10 with USB-C and Speakers
The first few days I had this monitor, I was very frustrated. It was significantly darker, and I have the brightness up all the way. Then, after thinking there must be an error, I found that ECO mode was turned on buried in the options menu. Once I turned that off, the screen brightness doubled. I was very relieved. The rest of the monitor is great. The single screw that holds the entire monitor to the base is a challenge to get in. It is far too small and does not fit well enough for a tiny phillips head. It took a lot of effort to finally get it to go all the way in without totally stripping the screw. ... show more

  • A Dumb Monitor
Size: 27-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10 with USB-C and Speakers
If ALL you need is a 4K monitor with one HDMI and one DP port to sit on your desk then this might serve you. I replaced the 1080p monitor in my studio with this one. While it has a better 4K picture quality, it lack the functionality of my original lower priced monitor. Functionality that the manual suggests that it has. I need to display jpg images from a memory stick to the screen. The manual shows a thumb drive as an input to the standard USB port but none of the three standard USB ports serve as an input for display. The monitor has a USB-C input that's listed as a valid display input but so far I haven't been found anything that works. It doesn't display files from a thumb drive either. The manual shows a cell phone connected to the USB-C port as a display source but the monitor doesn't recognize it. It seems that the only thing the USB ports are for would be charging and connecting a keyboard (which I haven't tried). Two calls to Samsung tech support didn't help. They couldn't explain why the USB-C port wouldn't recognize my cell phone. When I explained what I wanted I was told "You would need a smart monitor for that." ... show more

  • Flickers and crackles, but beautiful picture
Size: 27-inch Style: 4K UHD HDR10 with USB-C and Speakers
This monitor works about 70% of the time. The other 30% it randomly "pops" and flickers or the screen will go blank for 5 seconds before flickering back on with the menu showing. I tried everything including a different power source, HDMI cable, resetting the cable, etc. but it wouldn't go away. Returning it. ... show more
