I bought this for my gaming PC. It's amazing. It's glorious. It's stunning. Brought a tear to my eye, it's so beautiful. I get ~140 fps @ 4k in Call of Duty and it's crisp and clear with no blur. I sit with my nose less than 24" from the screen and it's just jaw-droppingly good. It's got all the normal apps installed. Got a nice little remote. It's got better-than-average speakers for their size and flatness. I run it at about 10% brightness because it's stupidly bright. My only issue is that if you're using a DisplayPort cable and the monitor turns off due to inactivity, the PC shuts off the DP port and you have to restart the PC. (It's actually more of an issue with the PC.) Simple fix is to tell the monitor to *never* turn off due to inactivity. Other than that small hiccup, money well spent.

TLDR; o Great picture... when it worked. o 60% of the time the monitor would wake up from the video signal, tell me it couldn't find a video signal, then power off after 60 seconds o 100% of the time I could not get a picture outside of "Game Mode", limiting its usefulness outside of games since you lose access to many options in "Game Mode." o The monitor's menu interface is horrific. It feels like I paid money to get tortured. Not my kink, sorry! o Comes with a useless remote control that feels cheap poorly designed. Why does the button to access the menu change depending on what mode you're in!? o Poorly designed streaming user interface slapped onto an already bad monitor configuration menu. o Samsung's support site is just as frustrating as the monitor UI. It doesn't recognize the official model number as a valid product. o Cost me nearly $100 in new HDMI cables trying to troubleshoot... Avoid this monitor. Probably best to avoid all Samsung monitors to be safe... Samsung has produced a beautiful looking monitor that is severely hampered by its user interface, support experience, and various other bugs.. When I could get it to work, it looked amazing! Sadly, I could never get it to work consistently. Wiggling my mouse would wake the monitor, but it would often present me with a screen claiming there was no signal, and a 60 second count down before powering off. Clearly it detected an HDMI signal, since it woke up, but then it would fail to lock on to that signal. I replaced the HDMI cable three times with various "ultra speed" 8K HDMI 2.1 certified cables, but the effect was the same. I tried with multiple computers and they all experienced the same issue. Frustratingly, I could never reproduce the issue consistently. It was just a roll of the dice as to whether it would work this time or not. I could wiggle the mouse after the screen had been off for a minute or a day and there was a 60% chance the monitor would come on, then tell me there was no signal. (THEN HOW DID YOU KNOW TO TURN ON!?) In addition to multiple HDMI cables, I attempted a firmware update. This was also an exercise in frustration, if you haven't allowed the monitor to access your WiFi. If you go to Samsung's website, find the support section where it makes you type in the model number, then type in the model number exactly as it appears in the monitor's support menu, the site claims that no such monitor exists. REALLY SAMSUMG!? Are you really that incompetent? Oh wait, you made this crap-fest of a monitor, so clearly the answer is yes. I managed to find the monitor support page via bing, after wading through a ton of useless pages. That allowed me to update the monitor with a USB drive. Sadly, that had no effect on my HDMI sync issues. I seem to get burned every time I buy a Samsung product. I took a risk and bought this monitor, and yup, got burned again.

This monitor does 4K resolution at 144hz. My current pc has an i7 11700K and an RTX 3080TI. I obviously cannot do 4k max settings at that frame rate, but I do like the fact that this monitor has G-Sync and Free-Sync meaning I'm future proofed in case I switch to AMD in the future. It does have smart features, but I do not use them because I have my desktop hooked up to it. It has rgb lighting in the front and back that is customizable and can react to which game you are playing. The remote is USB-C rechargeable and works on other newer Samsung monitors and TVs. It comes with a stand and a plate that has the standard VESA mount support in case you have a monitor mount. The speakers are okay, but I still prefer to use my headset or sound system. It's nice to have them though. The ultrawide is interesting because you can force 21:9 aspect ratio at the cost of a lower resolution. The IPS screen is nice as well. I have tested Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 and this monitor looks amazing with them on 4k max settings. I get about 55-70 fps with no screen tearing. Which is nice. All around I'd say this monitor is worth getting if you have a rig that can utilize it or are thinking about upgrading. However, even 4090s are still said to struggle with 4K max settings at 144hz right now.

Monitors should just work as normal monitors. This doesn’t accomplish that task. Here are the highlights (problems) 1. Gsync doesn’t actually perform correctly. If you have multiple monitors, you’ll have to disable Gsync. This was the only solution I could figure for it to stop black screening. 2. Multiple monitor support seems to also cause issues. To be fair, I’ve never tried to without using multiple monitors. 3. It doesn’t wake up properly. I move my house and all other PC monitors wake up. This one wakes, but doesn’t recognize the input. You have to CTRL+Shift+windows+B to wake it up. 4. It’s beautiful, no really it looks great. Colors look great (I’m not a color nerd). No backhanded comment coming, it looks great. I think that’s it. Just don’t buy it! I thought my issues would get worked out, but No. Update 4/16/23 Gsync works better but still flickers when complete black screen. The biggest problem is it doesn’t wake up. I have to pull the DisplayPort cable out and put back in for it to show desktop. This is stupid annoying. My second monitor wakes up. I wish I returned it. Update 4-22-24 This now functions as a monitor and wakes when I press a key. It did have some weird thing going on when sleeping but I just turn it off. When pressing a key it turns back on.

I would first like to start off by saying that I don't normally write product reviews, so simply writing this in the first place shows my dissatisfaction with the monitor. I spent $800 on this monitor expecting that it would be able to do the simple task of being able to show the display when I connect my computer. Well, It cannot even do that. Randomly, the monitor shows a message saying to "Turn on your computer in 60 seconds or it will go to sleep mode" when the computer is clearly on and working. I have tried multiple different cables and multiple different computers and this issue is present for all of them. Every time this happens I have to spend hours unplugging and plugging the cable and pray that it will work (it does not work most of the time). On top of this issue, when the monitor does detect my computer (which is very rare), it starts showing lines on the bottom of the display which I believe is ghosting. I went to Samsung support to try and fix these issues but that experience was HORRIBLE. I wasted hours on phone calls trying to explain a problem that was easy to understand. When I finally received a ticket link after multiple hours wasted, the link did not even work. Samsung cannot even make a website work let alone make a monitor work. I know 5-year-olds who could create a better interface that actually works. Anyway, after all of that struggle, they replaced the LCD display but they did NOT fix the connectivity issue. I now have to create another ticket to get them to fix the connectivity issue which they should have fixed when I sent it in before. If there are so many issues with the product, then I should just be able to get a refund. They haven't fixed the connectivity issue and I doubt they will unless I spend another 500 hours on phone calls with support and on their broken website. I cannot even get a refund on this because Amazon says it is out of the return window. Any customer should be given a refund if they are given a defective product. Overall, this product is horrible and defective and made me waste multiple days of my life that I could have used to do something useful. I never thought that Amazon, a company that normally has great products, could give me a defective product like this and then deny me a refund. All I ask for is a refund to take me out of my misery.

It does this every time the system(PS5 or PC) bumps up the FPS. It is VERY annoying if you're playing an action game, because it will black screen for 2-3 seconds. I have died many times in many games due to this. If you set it to VRR off, 60 fps, you won't have the problem. But what's the point of a 4k 144hz panel that sucks if you go high fps? I also am not a fan of the auto-shut off power save. I have turned it off but it likes to do it's own thing when I leave my PC alone for a few minutes. If it turns off, I can turn it back on and the display port won't read the PC signal and I have to restart the PC to make it work. Huge design flaw, very annoying. At the end of the day, I wish I would have discovered some of these during the return window. For the money, find a better monitor.

The biggest issue is how it fails to recognize my PC after the PC sleeps. You can't just wake it up and get back to work, you have to turn it off and on again. The monitor settings are also sub par, especially if you're planning on using HDR or their "extreme" gaming mode. It's slow and sluggish to navigate, and you're kinda just hoping to get lucky and finally find the right settings for you. There's also a lot of flicker and interference when it's first either turning on or having a second monitor work alongside it. Once it's settled it's fine, just a weird quirk that doesn't happen with any of my previous monitors. I'm running a 4090 so I can flawlessly handle a 4k monitor, it's not my hardware causing issues. Finally, the stand could definitely do with going a little higher. For some reason you can rotate this monitor, but only about 40 degrees, as you're then hitting your desk with the corner of the monitor. If they gave another couple of inches of height it would then allow a 90 degree rotation, which would at least make sense. Who's watching or gaming at a 40 degree angle??? If you can look past all that, it's a good monitor! Games and movies look clean and crisp in 4K, and I've experienced no experiencing ruining problems at all while actually using it.

I have two of these monitors. I had a lot of trouble with them constantly going into standby mode while gaming or watching movies. It was really annoying and I couldn't solve the issue at first. As it turns out the issue wasn't the monitor but a Nvidia setting. Nvidia used 10 BPC (30 bit) graphics default instead of the more common 8 BPC (24 bit) standard. Changing this setting alleviated all of the issues I had with the monitors. I believe most of the bad reviews of this monitor are likely due to this Nvidia setting as opposed to an issue with the monitor itself. It was really difficult to troubleshoot and quite frustrating, but not Samsung's fault.
