  • Cool and Sleek Smart Watch, with some fitness use... But don't expect accuracy
I was excited to get this watch for my birthday. It's super sleek, light weight, is a slim screen, so it's not bulky like most smart watches, so you can move your wrist back and forth without it pinching. Very useful during things like push ups and weight training (to a degree). The screen is easy to use and understand. You can customize the screens, add or remove different metrics, and also get your standard notifications such as messages, incoming calls, email alerts, etc. Sleep tracking also does fairly well. Especially when used with the Samsung Health app, you can track your sleeping from heavy non moving, to light, to restless sleep. It gives a really good reading of your sleep efficiency in a percentage, as well as calories burned overnight. That's a really nice feature. Now for the ugly... So my biggest let down with this watch is how inaccurate it is. The heart rate accuracy is ok at best during resting or moderate activities. Such as walking, doing chores, light jogging, aerobic exercise to a degree, and basic movement. But anything beyond that, forget about it. For me, once my activity pushes my HR to around 115, the inaccuracy is awful. In most cases, it just completely loses track altogether. During most intense workouts, I have no data due to the fact that the watch simply cannot keep up and pretty much stops tracking anything. I even did a test with my old Samsung Note 5 onboard HR tracker, and I did a workout that pushed my HR to 149, however, the watch was reading 105. From what I've read, it's one of the worst on the market in regards to HR accuracy, and it shows. So if you want a watch to keep close to accurate HR, steer clear of this one. Another heart rate problem I've seen is after you take it off for a couple of minutes, or even to charge, it could take up to 20 or more minutes to start recording HR activity. It's really frustrating. Also unlike advertised, this watch does not do well in water. Getting it a little wet with some splashes or maybe doing wet activities like washing dishes or hands is fine. But I wouldn't swim or shower with it. Another thing is that the watch is mostly made up of plastic materials, unlike other watches that made of are carbon or steel. This one is pretty light, and the reason is because of the mostly plastic construction. So if you want a nice looking smart watch, light weight, good at tracking sleep, but don't care much about HR accuracy during high intensity training, then I would recommend this one. But other than that, there are better choices on the market. ... show more

  • WATER RESISTANT? CAREFUFLLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
I received my Samsung Fit 2 Pro today. I have only read the instructions. I do not plan on using it in or around water. But for those who may think otherwise you need to know what is written. From the instruction folder: “Maintaining water and dust resistance.” “Your device supports water and dust resistance. Follow these tips carefully to maintain the water and dust resistance of your device. Failure to do so may result in damage to your device. . Do not expose the device to WATER MOVING WITH FORCE. Do not use the device when you dive into water, snorkel, or try any water sports in fast flowing water. If the device or your hands are wet dry them thoroughly before handling the device. . If the device is exposed to fresh water dry it thoroughly with a clean soft cloth. If the device is exposed to any liquid other that fresh water, such as perfume, soapy water, oil, Pool water, sea water, sunblock or lotion, rinse the device with fresh water and dry it thoroughly with a clean soft cloth before using your device. Failure to do so may cause the device to suffer from operability or cosmetic issues. . IF THE DEVICE IS DROPPED OR RECEIVES AN IMPACT the water or dust resistance features of the device may be damaged. . Some features such as the touch screen may not work properly IF THE DEVICE IS USED IN WATER.” The next highlighted paragraph states that the device has been tested in a controlled environment and certified to be water and dust resistant in specific situations and conditions. (Meets the requiements of water resistance in 50 meter deep water as described by the international standard ISO22810.2010 and your device can be used in shallow water. Presumably not faster moving shallow water. This raises many questions. Does a swimming stroke create fast moving water or water moving with force? Must the shallow water be still? What if the shallow water is pool water? If using the device while in the gym or running, does sweat count as one of the prohibited liquids? It does contain salt. Why claim that the device is water tight to 50 meters, yet prohibit any motion required to get there. Perhaps their vision is to slowly entering the water, sink to 50 meters, and come back up all without using your hands for any kind of a stroke. Samsung’s claim of water resistance is nullified by all of Samsung’s stated prohibited conditions. I notice the many reviews that stated “unrepairable due to water damage”. Seemingly then the device is ok at 50 meters as long as it doesn’t get wet. If swimming is your principle exercise, or if you enjoy walking in the rain, this device is not for you. I will add to this review after four weeks of use. ... show more
