Phone must be within 2 feet of user with snore detection enabled through Samsung Health app version 6.22 or later. Requires Samsung Galaxy Smartphone with Android 7.0 or later, and Samsung Health Monitor app (available only at the Samsung Galaxy app store). The ECG Monitor App intended for adults 22 years and older analyzes pulse rate data to identify episodes of irregular heart rhythms suggestive of AFib and provides a notification suggesting the user record an ECG to analyze the heart rhythm. I bought the Galaxy Watch 6 so that I could monitor my heart rate, sleep and steps. I particularly needed the availability of taking ECGs to discover Afib. I've worn it for 2+ weeks and am very pleased. The watch paired well with my older S10+ phone and was easy to set up. The display is beautiful and easy to read. I have used the ECG feature many times; I do get some "Poor Recording" notices but generally it seems easy to use once you get the hang of it. I particularly like the Sleep Coaching tips. The only complaints that I have are: 1. The charger did not come with a wall plug and none of the many that I had on hand worked with it. Some prior notification would have been nice so that I could have ordered the Samsung wall plug to arrive at the same time. Annoying. 2. The battery life is not good. Even with the Always on Display off, I charge it at least once daily and top it off before bed because sleep tracking is important to me. 3. I'm not convinced that the heart rate is accurate. The resting heart rate seems correct but I've noticed that, when I take it off of the charger, the heart rate on the watch soars even if I have not been doing much. 4. I did not love the silicone band which came with the watch. I bought one of the Samsung Hybrid T-bands and it is much better primarily due to the tail of the band not going underneath. I would definitely recommend this watch if you are already in the Samsung universe. The ease of use with my older Galaxy phone was well worth it. This watch impressed me enough to make me a Samsung watch fan. The Apple Watch is a quality watch, but I choose to pay my mortgage rather than purchase a watch. That said, the Galaxy Watch 6 has a longer battery life than the Galaxy Watch 5. Animated faces require me to charge my watch mid-day to allow the watch to record my steps when I go walking after work. The Active 2 was a joke, and connecting to my Samsung smartphone was challenging. The turning dial on the Galaxy Watch 6 is unique and a blessing because I have grown tired of swiping everywhere. The large screen prevents me from squinting, and the watch appears lighter than the Active 2. I wish Samsung would partner with Pandora to provide attractive watch bracelets for me when I attend professional meetings and after five engagements. ... show more

I love the size of the screen. And I love how versatile the watch faces are. I get to choose what I want to see on the default face, which you don't get AT ALL with other watches I've tried. You're stuck with whatever the companies choose for you on fitbit and cheap knockoffs. I like being able to quickly turn on a timer, for instance, and I haven't found another watch that let's me put that on the face. I haven't tried Garmin or any of those other high end brands, but I'm satisfied enough with the Samsung being able to do this and everything else I want that I don't need to go that expensive. I also don't use this watch like a lot of others do. I've turned off nearly every feature I can, cause I can turn them on when I need them again, so the battery lasts me about 5 days, which is excellent. My old Samsungs have only lasted 3 days at best, also with turning off things. It's nice not to feel like I need to charge it constantly. So, definitely an improvement over older models, and my main reason for going above my budget getting this one. I'm not a super active person, medical issues, but I do try to hit steps. I love taking walks, so I turn on GPS at that time. If you're a casual user like me, this is definitely a great option. Some might think it's too large of a screen, but I appreciate seeing things at a glance without squinting (I'm 34). I get my notifications without issue, and I can read them well. And 5 days on a charge vs. 3 or less has literally cut down on my frustration and anxiety levels. ... show more

How to start....? 15 years ago I was diagnosed with Mitral valve prolapse. At the time I was told it would get worse. For the last few months I have been experiencing heart palpitations and odd beats. So I dug deep in research and found that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 had the best heart monitoring features. I bought this and after 2 days it captured the EKG you see. That fluctuation is my valve. The watch should NOT be used to diagnose so I am capturing more EKGs and have arranged an appointment with my doctor. Now to the Watch. I have a Samsung phone so pairing was flawless and easy and setting up the app on my phone was very easy. To use all of the health features does however require 3 Samsung apps, but that is fine with me. I believe this watch has saved my life. I will confirm with my doctor, but I now realize this was money very well spent. I am not suggesting to use the watch to replace your doctor, but it is a tool to help your doctor. This is a decent watch. Bright screen easy to read although I need glasses to read the smaller numbers, but that is a problem with my eyes, not the watch. GPS tracking is accurate as expected. The heart rate monitor is accurate, the oxygen saturation measurement is not particularly accurate and should be taken with a grain of salt. I have had readings that, had they been accurate, would have put me in the hospital. As many have mentioned, battery life is not great but you can do a few things to stretch the battery. On the plus side, charging is fast but not a fan of the magnetic charger. The ECG function telling you you don't have atrial fibrillation is a gimmick and not really useful. If you actual had atrial fibrillation you would have collapsed and you wouldn't be checking your watch for it. The wrist band the watch comes with is cheap and awful. As far as apps go it is a nice little mini version of your phone although the watch screen is really not big enough to be super convenient. Sleep tracking is not accurate. Not a bad watch with some limitations. I think the Apple watches are better but they are also a lot more expensive. ... show more
