Description

Samsung’s 27” Odyssey OLED G6 QHD AMD FreeSyncTM Premium Gaming Monitors take gameplay to a whole new level. OLED delivers superior brightness and a wide color gamut, ensuring vivid detail and brilliant imagery in every scene. OLED technology delivers near-instant reaction time with 0.03ms (GtG) response time and a 240Hz refresh rate. AMD FreeSyncTM Premium keeps the GPU and panel synced up, which reduces choppiness, screen-lag, and image tears. The Dynamic Cooling System prevents burn-in and the Thermal Modulation System automatically controls brightness to reduce heat. Logo, Taskbar and Screen Saver provide automatic dimming while on a break. Glare Free technology presents the perfect black and color experience by significantly reducing glare from external light sources. Deep Black Levels lets true black and darker colors be seen without pixel light bleed. The slim design features a premium metal finish to suit every player’s style, and the ergonomic stand can be tilted and adjusted for total gaming comfort. 3-Year Warranty.¹Based on GtG measured under internal test conditions. Results may vary by content and monitor settings. GtG (Gray to Gray) measures the time taken for a monitor pixel to change from one gray value to another. ²Screen images simulated for illustrative purposes. ³When “Adjust Logo Brightness” is on “Off” or “Low,” Thermal Modulation is active in certain picture modes only. When “Adjust Logo Brightness” is on “High,” Thermal Modulation is always active. ⁴Logo detection is not available in PC mode. 5 Based on internal test results.

  • A worthwhile upgrade for my setup!
Style: 240 hz
The media could not be loaded. Upgrading this from an LG Ultragear 1440p 144hz monitor, which was also 27 inches in size. This is my first ever OLED display of any kind and I've heard so many great things about them, mainly how the colors and blacks are super vibrant. I have decided to stick with 2560x1440, since that's the resolution I like to play all of my games on and the upgraded refresh rate from 144hz to 240hz is super helpful for fast paced and action packed competitive PvP titles such as Fortnite, CS2, Overwatch, etc etc. Even games that aren't necessarily PvP look amazing on this monitor, great examples I've shown such as Helldivers 2, Genshin Impact. Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, BeamNG Drive and Red Dead Redemption are fantastic to look at thanks to the OLED display's eye popping colors. It's also great to know that this monitor can do certain things my old one could not, such as being able to adjust the height of the stand and to rotate it horizontally. The latter I have no reason to do so but if you're looking for a monitor for horizontal use and would like the advantages of an OLED display, look no further than this. At the time of purchase of this display, it supposedly comes with a free Steam key for the newly released Resident Evil: Requiem. I have yet to receive it but when I do, I'll update this review to show off how the game looks on this display. I'm using this with my PC equipped with a Ryzen 7 9700X and a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of video memory using a DisplayPort cable and it's running all of my favorite games at 1440p at 240hz refresh rate. This display also does support both NVIDIA's G-Sync for GTX/RTX GPUs (despite the product details here NOT mentioning it) and AMD's FreeSync for Radeon GPUs, which does help smooth things out on the display as much as possible. Maybe next time I'll go for a 4K OLED monitor with a high refresh rate when, and if (a big IF) those drop in price. ... show more

  • Great monitor
Style: 240 hz
The media could not be loaded. monitor is insane from 1440p 240 ips to 1440 240 oled performance same but the COLORS are way better. It’s not too much of a big difference in bright light but when there’s dark settings boom actually when there is bright light there is a difference. 5/5 Monitor Actually there is one issue the texts are not clear like on an ips monitor but it’s barely an issue ... show more

  • For the price point, you get more in return than you paid...BUY THIS MONITOR!!!
Style: 240 hz
No doubt about it, the Samsung G6 is the monitor to get if you’ve been waiting for a budget-friendly QD-OLED monitor to hit the market. It has a phenomenal 240Hz refresh rate (or you could shell out a few more dollars to get the 360Hz version) on a QHD wide 1440p display that simply puts other monitors in this price point of around $600 to shame without even breaking a sweat. If there was a negative about this product, the only thing I can think of would be to respond that it is a flat screen, not curved (which has advantages and disadvantages). For example, being flat keeps a lot of your HUD within your natural field of vision (such as the UI and game map). One thing that Samsung is doing is developing what it calls ‘VRR Control’ (reducing VRR flicker), using a virtual aim point (adds a virtual crosshair on the screen, making it that much easier to find your mouse when gaming), and something that I hadn’t yet got to play with until now a ‘SeeColors’ mode (for those that are visually impaired with color blindness and allows folks to modify the display colors. After hooking it up to my Alienware Area 51 laptop, I put the monitor through it’s paces. The color rendering is phenomenal with no really noticeable input lag, giving you instant response time (0.003ms (GtG)). I ran it through a series of both fast and slow action games and never experienced any choppiness, screen-lag, and/or image tears. It provided perceptual smoothness because there’s no pixel transition lag, eliminating that ‘ghosting’ you can sometimes get. It allowed really vivid colors to come through while at the same time retaining the dark shadows because each pixel is its own light source. I was also surprised that the QD-OLED is virtually glare-free so you don’t have to agonize over getting your conventional anti-reflection film when the lights are on and the sun is shing through your windows. They say that one thing you have to watch out for with OLED monitors is the burn-in, but Samsung has created a Dynamic Cooling System to prevent that and a modulation system that controls the brightness to reduce heat. This monitor does, though, have limited connectivity with the ports they decided to include. You have your HDMI 2.1 (remember to double-check your cable if you want to maximize the 240Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ capabilities), and DisplayPort 1.4 (which I’m a fan of; however, it’s hard to find a good laptop with a DP port because DP ports on TVs isn’t standard), and a 3.5mm headphone jack (which most folks would receive directly from the source, I imagine). I wish it would have included at least a second HDMI port, but instead they did include a USB-A port. Note that this port is a service port for updating the monitor with firmware updates and NOT for connecting a peripheral. I imagine that the lack of additional inputs was an effort to reduce material cost to give the consumer a better deal. This, on the other hand, can easily be remedied by buying an HDMI switch if you needed to. Oh, and Samsung was nice enough to toss in an HDMI and DP cable for you just to make sure that on the monitor side you can max out the benefits. So if you’re looking to get a premium monster of a QH-OLED monitor that’s a performance beast but you’re short on funds (or just smart with your money), this is the l33t panel to get if you aren’t looking for a monitor with the smart TV apps and additional ports (which is easily solvable). If I hadn’t gone crazy last summer buying the G9, I would have gone with this monitor no doubt. ... show more
