Monitor is great as far as pictured quality goes. No dead pixels, everything is sharp, clear, and vibrant. I hope it lasts at least 10 years. I'm still adjusting to the 2560x1440 resolution, but I am so glad for it. Tested a few games with it and it was also amazing. The stand is pretty cheap. The small loop in the back for cable management arrived broken, and honestly not sure how easily cables would have fit through it. I think the company figures most people will disregard the stand and mount it anyway. So you can only tilt the monitor back slightly and nothing else. That being said, I really like it so far.     • Failed After Only Four Months – Unreliable for Professional Use
I purchased two SAMSUNG 27” Odyssey G5 G53F QHD Resolution Gaming Monitors in January for my office setup. Both units performed well initially and delivered the expected picture quality and features during the first several months of regular use. However, one monitor has now completely failed. It suddenly shut off and will not power on at all, despite proper connections and troubleshooting attempts. This occurred approximately four months after purchase, which is unacceptable for a monitor in this price range intended for daily office and productivity tasks. I now face the inconvenience of replacing the defective unit. Given this premature failure, I am strongly considering switching to monitors from a different brand in hopes of achieving greater reliability and longevity beyond four months. Maybe I just got unlucky but I cannot recommend the Samsung Odyssey G5 G53F based on this experience. ... show more

I bought this monitor to replace the 2nd screen on my desk setup. For context, I have an OLED on my gaming PC, but OLED does have its drawbacks, so I decided to get an IPS, and landed on this G5 G53F. I didnt expect much when it arrived, since my eyes have gotten used to OLED. But I was impressed how nice this Samsung looked. The colors look really good, the blacks are decent, and it handles differnet shades of the same color very well, like shadows, different levels of darkness. I ended up making this monitor the main display at my desk, instead of the side. Then a few weeks later I bought a second G53F to replace the "fast ips" that I bought not even a year ago. And that Fast IPS display is made by a competitor, very well reviewed and recommended, and also more expensive. I like the Samsung more. One big thing I really appreciate, is the simple design of this monitor. No red stripe on the bottom, no weird curves, no big chrome logo on the front. I also like the fact the controls for this monitor are all done with a knob on the bottom, in the middle. I always hate having to feel around for which button does what. Even worse when the buttons are on the back The viewing angles on this are also pretty good. That Fast IPS I replaced had the worst viewing angles. I'm not sure how that one was so well reviewed with such terrible angles. Text on here is really crisp, easy to read. But yeah, this monitor is definitely a great buy, especially if you get it when it's on sale, around $160-180. ... show more
