Typical Samsonite luggage set comes in 3 sizes, carry on size, middle size and the large size. I prefer the fabric set over hard shell luggages because they have the flexibility to expand and fit more stuff in. At the price point $150-$200 per set, these are the mid price range samsonite luggage set, offering average quality on the handle design, fabric and zippers. Used them for about 3 long distance trips now, fabric has been holding up ok, some scratches on the corners, I liked the blue color, but is not very dirt resistant, few zipper heads fell part and zipper pulls are missing due to airport handling. This is pretty decent luggage for the price. The color is definitely not as teal as advertised, much more green. The only measurements given for this suitcase on here were 20x14x8.5 (42.5in) so I assumed this was acceptable for the TSA 45 linear inch carry on requirement. Once the suitcase arrived, the tag on it let me know that the measurement given was actually the inside dimensions. The outside dimensions come to 48.42, which is over. Now some airlines might be fine with this, but for my first international flight, traveling with a handicap mother, I was definitely not willing to take the risk. I just wish the item had all the important information on it before I made my purchase. I did keep it because it is nice and will be used for other travels, but I had to buy another piece of luggage for what I needed it for. ... show more

More purple than expected. Wish I'd gotten black, but really nice suitcases, great price on sale. Samsonite is worththe money. I debated on soft versus hard. Not sorry I chose the soft. Glad to have the 3 sizes

Purchased just the large suitcase of this set in 2 colors - the dimensions listed on the site are correct (unlike another set I purchased and had to return because it was huge). This large one is less than 62 linear inches - if larger than 62 is oversize on most airlines. I have not used it yet, but it seems very sturdy (equivalent to our last set that we had over 10 years) Love the rivets on the handles, and extra protections spots too. ... show more

Samsonite is a great company with great products. This set of three suitcases is lightweight and durable, but has two major problems. I tried to get a hold of someone to communicate this issue, but can’t seem to get a hold of anyone. The first problem is that the measurements are off by 3 inches on all three size suitcases. The measurements say that it is approved by airlines, but when you add 3 inches to each suitcase, they are no longer airline friendly and you will have to pay extra or not be able to take it on board. The other issue is that the larger two suitcases are weak in the middle and could crush your items in the middle of the suitcase while both ends are sturdy. Seems like they measured the suitcase itself while not including 2 inches for the wheels and 1 inch for the handle. Airlines measure the whole suitcase, including wheels and handles. The measurements are falsely advertised, because even when I measured the the luggage box itself not including the wheels and handles, it is still over half an over half an inch larger than their posted measurements. Please consider their other great products if you are planning on flying. ... show more

Bought this for a family member who travels frequently, they are very pleased with the luggage and describe how smoothly the handles extend and how well the wheels work on all surfaces. Worth the extra money spent for a superior product.
