This is my first Samsonite suitcase. It lives fully up to the reputation I've heard. It's lightweight but really packs a ton if you roll up clothes in bundles and carefully arrange the placement of items. It has a lot of pockets, some of which are cleverly designed to be accessible from the outside without opening up the suitcase. It is also well balanced so that when I secure a backpack over the pull-up handle, the whole thing stands pretty well, does not tip over, and rolls around easily. The only complaint I have is that pockets equal zippers; it's very easy to confuse which zipper handles open which pocket. I wish they could be distinguished a little better by placement or maybe shape. Like another reviewer said, the dimensions are significantly bigger than how it's described in Amazon's product description. It's actually measured 23" (H) x 15" (W) x 10" (D) (including handles whenever applicable). I will deduct one star for false advertisement. However in actual experience I have been able to get away with carry-on dimensions slightly larger than what airlines specify. So far I've been able to carry this on 4 domestic American Airline flights with no issue passing gate agents and fitting into overhead compartments. They key is not to use the expansion capability and pack it to the max. So long as the luggage does not appear bulging to the gate agents, it should be fine to be carried on.

My wife covered review duties for this product: I recently took the Samsonite Lightweight Softside Expandable Carry-On to Washington, DC on a business trip, and I must say, this suitcase is nothing short of exceptional. My husband got it for us, and it’s quickly become my go-to for business travel. From the moment I started packing, I could tell this suitcase was designed with the traveler in mind. Initially, I packed with the expansion fully opened, figuring I might need the extra space. Surprisingly, even without using my usual packing cubes to maximize space, I managed to fit everything comfortably. When I was done packing, I could easily zip the expansion back down, making the suitcase compact enough to fit in the overhead bin. This was a huge relief as I didn’t have to check any luggage, saving me both time and the hassle of waiting at baggage claim. I packed for a four-day trip, and besides my clothes, I brought along many snacks, a travel hair dryer, and a decent-sized toiletry kit. Despite all this, I still had plenty of room left. If I had used packing cubes and left the expansion open, I’m confident I could have fit twice the amount of clothing. The suitcase’s capacity is genuinely impressive. One feature I particularly appreciated was the outside pocket. I didn’t use it for clothing; instead, I left it open for my laptop carrying case and about two inches of file folders. This made it incredibly easy to access my laptop and documents without having to rummage through the main compartment. When I boarded the plane, I simply reached into the pocket, pulled out my laptop and files, and stowed them under the seat in front of me. This convenience alone made the suitcase worth every penny. Another thoughtful feature is the pocket for a phone charger cord and battery pack. This little addition ensures that you always know where your device is when you need it. It’s small details like these that set this suitcase apart from others I’ve used in the past. In terms of durability and ease of use, the Samsonite Lightweight Softside Expandable Carry-On excels. The bag is incredibly lightweight, which is a huge plus when you’re navigating through busy airports. The handle extends easily and feels sturdy, even when the suitcase is fully loaded. It rolls smoothly, almost as if it’s gliding on ice. This made maneuvering through the airport a breeze, and I didn’t experience any of the usual struggles I’ve had with heavier, less agile suitcases. After careful consideration, I can honestly say I have nothing critical to point out about this suitcase. If I had to nitpick, perhaps the wheels are a bit thin. To extend the life of the suitcase, I might look into getting some luggage wheel covers. However, this is a minor concern and doesn’t detract from the overall performance and quality of the suitcase. I have a set of Samsonite suitcases for more than 10 years and I can confirm that they are resistant and elegant pieces. In this case this Carry On is a piece that refreshes my luggage, has a renewed design in every way has a space to put a power bank and discreetly remove the cable to have on hand my phone or tablet, storage space is expandable in case a 30%, the handle I can adjust it to my liking that do not have almost any luggage is appropriate because in my case my husband, my son and I are the ones who walk with the luggage and we are of different size we can be comfortable and adjust it to our need the only bad thing about this handle is that the adjustment button is not a button but the button is covered with a plastic that can break or crack with use, I hope that is not the case. The case is lightweight, the wheels move to any direction easily, the lifting handles are padded and strong. I really liked one thing that my other carry ons do not have and that is that it has a handle on the back that allows you to insert it as a bag over another suitcase this makes life much easier when you walk with children and your hands run out when you are traveling very good idea. The interior is roomy and comes with a pouch to put things that may spill. Just the right size to travel light and airlines accept it. As I said at the beginning Samsonite is a premium brand and for life, super recommended.
