I have used these for a couple of trips, and very happy so far. They are a very nice quality and look good. I ordered the Caribbean blue, but it looks more like teal to me. The expandable zipper feature is very nice to have. The set is 3 pieces and I haven't used the largest size yet. The large suitcase is huge. If I filled it, I would need help to get it in my car. The smaller two pieces are perfect for 3-5 days. The middle sized is big enough for all clothes, and the smaller one for toiletries, gifts, etc. I should have only bought the two suitcases, but the price for 3 is still good enough to go ahead and get the set. I have used the two smaller suitcases for a road trip and stayed at a hotel. These two cases were real lifesavers at a hotel. Easy to pack the car, with just two cases and my purse, and then easy to manuver into the hotel. I didn't need any big rolling cart. The wheels were very good, even on carpet down long hallways. Just got off a 7 day cruise to Alaska, and decided I needed a suitcase upgrade, as my old 2 wheel duffel would barely close on the contents, returning. The Samsonite arrived intact, big and beautiful, just as pictured. The wheels, locks, extendable handle and zippers all work smoothly, so am good to go. I've read the surface scratches, which is disappointing, but a hard case that doesn't simply does not exist, I think, as the reviews on all the other models noted they did, as well, so just have to live with it, I guess. As long as it remains in one piece, and contains the contents, with working wheels and zippers, I'll be satisfied. The lock system seems a little fragile, just being the zipper tips inserted into holes, with a latching bar running thru it. However, it's not a concern for me, as my duffel had no lock, and I never pack anything other than clothes, toiletries and a book or two, so not a prime target for potential thievery, I think. Overall, I really like it, at this point. I'm hopefully traveling to Kenya in February, and will return to edit this review when I return. ... show more

This is a good set of luggage. We actually returned this set and got a different size combo of the same set. That was our mistake - didn't notice we had clicked the larger checked bag size. If that is what you want, go for it. Personally, I think this size checked bag is too large to be practical. It would also be really easy to go over the weight limit. My daughter has taken the set (again, same line) on 4 flights and both pieces have held up well. Roll well and it's nice to have luggage that isn't black so it stands out a bit with this nice blue. ... show more

Both pieces work really well. The larger case has been used on 4 overseas trips and shows no signs of wear. The TSA approved built in lock works well.

They're light and the smaller fits inside the medium. But boy they don't look or feel resistant. Not sure what material Samsonite uses, but it's quite thin. Only tine will tell about it sturdiness. Main concern is about its zipper. Oh yeah there's no built-in locker on the carry-on piece.
