Love the color. Got a great deal. These have held up perfectly over the past year to many many trips, TSA, and baggage handlers who treat your items with the utmost care and respect (/sarcasm). Very light weight, so they aren't eating into that 40/50 lb airline weight limit before they steal more of your precious money. I have used these for a couple of trips, and very happy so far. They are a very nice quality and look good. I ordered the Caribbean blue, but it looks more like teal to me. The expandable zipper feature is very nice to have. The set is 3 pieces and I haven't used the largest size yet. The large suitcase is huge. If I filled it, I would need help to get it in my car. The smaller two pieces are perfect for 3-5 days. The middle sized is big enough for all clothes, and the smaller one for toiletries, gifts, etc. I should have only bought the two suitcases, but the price for 3 is still good enough to go ahead and get the set. I have used the two smaller suitcases for a road trip and stayed at a hotel. These two cases were real lifesavers at a hotel. Easy to pack the car, with just two cases and my purse, and then easy to manuver into the hotel. I didn't need any big rolling cart. The wheels were very good, even on carpet down long hallways. It made traveling by myself very easy.

This is my first Samsonite luggage bag and my first hardside clam shell case. The design is elegant and the Emerald Green is a beautiful color. The expandable part is a great feature cause it does allow for a lot more luggage. The USB battery bank is a great idea and the case seems pretty resistant to scratches. The wheels seem to be an upgrade compare to other models of a similar price. The size is a little smaller then 22x14x9, it is more like 21x13x9 and expands up to 21x13x11 COMPARED TO SOFTSIDE: From the exterior is looks much smaller than a typical softside, but fits just as much. The clam shell design makes it more difficult to really pack this thing tight, you have to fill both sides separately and then fold it together. There is a possibility that there is a void between the two halves or it doesn't shut from over packing, but this is the case for all hard side luggage. Also when opened it just takes up a lot more floor space, especially if you in a small space The reason for a four star review is that there is some play on the telescopic handler like other reviewers have mentioned, I am going to try to see if I can modify it. Also the wheels are really fluid and nice, but I have a feeling they might not be that durable, if you squeeze the wheels together there is some give. There is also no TSA lock built-in like the previous model. As of now, I would recommend and I am buying a second one in navy. Only time will tell regarding durability. Will report back.

Just got off a 7 day cruise to Alaska, and decided I needed a suitcase upgrade, as my old 2 wheel duffel would barely close on the contents, returning. The Samsonite arrived intact, big and beautiful, just as pictured. The wheels, locks, extendable handle and zippers all work smoothly, so am good to go. I've read the surface scratches, which is disappointing, but a hard case that doesn't simply does not exist, I think, as the reviews on all the other models noted they did, as well, so just have to live with it, I guess. As long as it remains in one piece, and contains the contents, with working wheels and zippers, I'll be satisfied. The lock system seems a little fragile, just being the zipper tips inserted into holes, with a latching bar running thru it. However, it's not a concern for me, as my duffel had no lock, and I never pack anything other than clothes, toiletries and a book or two, so not a prime target for potential thievery, I think. Overall, I really like it, at this point. I'm hopefully traveling to Kenya in February, and will return to edit this review when I return.

As soon as these arrived I filled them up and flew off to Europe. They are lightweight and versatile, quality made. I really put them to the test and they all held up great during the 3 week trip. I liked the color options too, made them easy to spot in baggage claim. The only drawback to hard cases is the lack of outside pockets for storing easy-to-access items so bring a shoulder bag.

They're light and the smaller fits inside the medium. But boy they don't look or feel resistant. Not sure what material Samsonite uses, but it's quite thin. Only tine will tell about it sturdiness. Main concern is about its zipper. Oh yeah there's no built-in locker on the carry-on piece.
