He loves the quicklace system, but i made sure he also has a pair of tie-lace shoes so he doesn't regress and forget how to tie his laces. Salomon’s are the best we’ve found for hikes. Hard to find this shoe size for boys. Had to order from Amazon. The shoe fits well. The grip is great for my teen. He enjoys parkour and back county hikes. We use these for the beach as well. They hold their grip while climbing on slippery rocks at the beach and in the mountains. Haven’t found a hiking shoe that matches it’s function.

This is the fourth pair of Solomon shoes that we have had. Very durable. My son is extremely active and hard on shoes and these do the job until he grows out of them.

My son runs Spartan Races - ( trail running with obstacles) - he wore them for his last race and he said they felt great, gripped the ground, he didn't slip running up hill like the other kids did. He loves them.
