  • Fit feeling, almost like a ski boot
Size: 10.5 Color: Magnet/Black/Phantom
What a good purchase. I was tired of running outside in the snow only to get wet feet in the first 15 minutes. Did some research, read reviews for a few days. Ended up buying my first pair of salomon speed cross 5s. I was also looking for a shoes that “goat heads” couldn’t puncture through. All my nike shoes have holes in the bottoms because of the goat heads. I run roughly 7 miles a day, 12 on Sunday. These shoes feel like something a ninja would wear. Flexible but armored up. First feel was of a ski boot. Slip them on and they almost feel tied. I wear 10.5s, I’m 5’11, 170lbs. Nice that there made in the great state of Ohio. Im in Colorado, took a few weeks to get there. Paid $90, bought 2 pairs. If there’s something you cant have enough of its running shoes. Update after 7 miles. Very form fitting. Smooth heal toe transition. What i did find odd was if your driving for more than 5 minutes in them your feet will actually start to go numb, or my feet did while driving a car. ... show more

  • Overall excellent, with an asterisk*
Size: 10.5 Color: Duck Green/Black/Evening Primrose
Okay--the good: These have a great arch in them that really relieves my plantar fasciitis. For most of you that's not an issue and thanks to this shoe, it will likely not be with me. Second--very comfortable overall, besides the wonderful arch support. Third--very grippy. Great for hiking, great for biking. Finally--very stylish. I didn't buy them for that reason, but I got a lot of complements on them. Now, the issues: First, I needed a half size larger than usual. Not a big deal and in fact I've learned with shoes to expect that. I often have to go back and get a half size up or down. Second--and this was almost a deal-breaker--there was some poor construction next to the top eyelet on the right side near the toe. It seems that the heavy duty fabric which is used to support the draw cord (which acts as a shoestring) was not properly trimmed on the inside of the shoe. After a few hours it was downright painful, and I'm glad I figured it out before I went on a long hike. Getting it trimmed was extremely difficult due to the way the shoe is constructed. I finally got it clipped with a pair of small wire cutters and about 3 snips. The amount irritating was no more than 1/4" but it was protruding out from under the tongue (not so on the left foot) and well anyway, all is well now!~ ... show more

  • New shoes for walking exercise
Size: 13 Color: Black/Black/Phantom
I had a pair of Salomon shoes some time ago and remember how comfortable they were. These were on special. I saw the reviews about them being on the small side. I take a US size 13 - that was the size of my previous pair of walking trainers so I went with the same size. I am really pleased with the fit - it is tight on width but not too tight - the length is perfect and they are very, very comfortable. I put them on and walked over 4 miles straight away, they felt great. ... show more

  • Bought for Quicklace, stayed for shoes.
Size: 8 Wide Color: Black/Black/Phantom
I bought these shoes because I wanted to try out the Quicklace system. I normally wear either an 8 Wide or an 8 1/2 if wide is not available. I chose these shoes in part because they we available in 8W. I'm glad that's the case, because the shoebox fit is tight - I don't think I could wear 8 and maybe not 8 1/2. Many of the reviews have mentioned the high back and this is true. I'm normally bothered by high backs, but for some reason it does not bother me in this case. The tread is great - more than I need because I don't plan on doing any trail running (except chasing after my dog from time to time). I wasn't overly impressed by the Quicklace system, but all things considered, I found this to be a sound purchase. ... show more

  • Amazing shoes- but get the right size!
Size: 10.5 Color: Duck Green/Black/Evening Primrose
Everything about these shoes live up to the hype and the countless positive reviews. The ONLY downside is the inaccurate sizing. I am a US Men’s size 10.5 and 90% of all shoes I try on fit perfectly. These shoes not only run really small, but are also abnormally narrow. After returning several pairs- I think 4 - that didn’t fit, I finally decided that the USA Men’s 11 reg was best- but I have narrow feet and they fit like a glove, giving me zero wiggle room for rough, rocky trail running. If you don’t have skinny/narrow feet I strongly urge you to buy ‘Wide’ and at least a 1/2 size larger than normal. If you want a comfortable, wear-everywhere fit, probably one size larger. If you are buying these at a ridiculously low price, I strongly suggest you order at least two different sizes and return the one that doesn’t fit. FYI: this review is based on the all black. The ONLY reason I am not rating them 5-Stars is due to all the returning over many months. ... show more

  • Best shoes EVER
Size: 12 Color: Black/Black/Phantom
I have owned a lot of shoes. Run thousands of miles in several brands of shoes. Many marathons. These shoes are nuclear bomb shutting out all the other competition for the most comfortable and responsive shoes I have ever worn in my 35 year life. Getting ready to train doing some CrossFit murph runs in these shoes ... show more

  • Love these shoes!
Size: 10.5 Color: Duck Green/Black/Evening Primrose
These are like loafers in that you don't need to hassle with laces. They stay snug enough even running on the treadmill without tightening the cord. These are my all time shoe so don't want to wear them out on the trails. Only thing is if you have electrical extensions, cords about these shoes are adept at pick them up due to the nubs on the soles! 😄 ... show more

  • I Love These!!!
Size: 10.5 Color: Duck Green/Black/Evening Primrose
Pros: the color and style. These are quite comfortable and light weight!. I'm using them for trail running and a Mud Run I have coming up in 3 months. The tread grip the ground in dirt and grass. Haven't tried them in mud yet. I will and update the review. Love the laces you just sinch them with the plastic tie and tuck it in she shoe tongue and you'll bever have the tie the shoes again!!! That's the best. Tripping on laces is a thing. Cons: can't think of any right now. I inserted gel insoles because I have super high arches. I'll update after I run in mud, rain, and concrete. ... show more
