I had purchased a bottle of the base coat from this brand on clearance at a local drugstore (the reason my nails are pink in the photo). I tried just using the pink polish without the suggested "step 2" top coat...and it was almost immediately chipping and scratching off...worse than any other polish I have tried...but despite that issue, I could only remove that stuff with straight up acetone polish remover, the gentle kind doesn't touch it. I decided to invest in this top coat, because I figured I need it to get any wear out of the base coat polish...and also that I could use it as top coat for other types of polish, and even use it to accent crafts projects!! Win-win. This polish might be the most beautiful nail polish I have ever seen! Yes, there's thousands of contenders, true, but there's just something so ethereal and beautiful about this polish in the bottle--photos don't do it justice. I think it would actually look better with a cooler color like blue or green for the base coat...but I had put it on over the pink one. It does look unique and quite pretty in person. Also, I painted my nails several days ago and have been clearing out an estate, moving furniture, boxes, books etc and painting, with very very minimal wear! No need for a touch up which is amazing!! I did apply 2 or 3 coats of both the base and this top coat. No UV curing needed. It dried reasonably fast too. I highly highly recommend this polish. On the nails, it looks like a very fine chartreuse shimmer, slight chameleon effect. I don't personally think it looks the same as UV cured gel polish. It still looks very good and I don't hesitate to recommend it. It's worth the price for sure! Also, I have read other reviews, not sure if it was for this top coat or a different one from this line complaining that nail polish remover won't cut this. Based on my experience with the base coat alone, you might need straight acetone to remove it, but I'm not sure, just saying this because one brand of polish remover I tried didn't work at all. I am very impressed with the performance of this product, and will probably buy more from this line in the future!

I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical about this product, but I’m glad I tried it. I used this over a pale blue polish on both finger and toenails. This is a very shiny, pretty clear gloss. I applied two clear coats on top of the blue coat. This lasted well on my fingernails for a little over a week with minimal chipping. It’s been a little more than two weeks, and it’s just starting to chip off of my toenails. It was easy to apply, and the price was fine for me. I’d buy this again when I need another bottle or a different color.

Works really well and keeps the top coat shiny. Be sure to let the coats dry completely though! Otherwise it’ll chip and look weird.

These top coats perform very nicely but the pixie chrome (pink) shade is a lot more sheer and only shows up as pink sparkles whereas the galax-sea (blue) shade has much more pigment to it. I applied them to my bare nails and as you can see the blue shows up strong and will change the nail polish shade instead of just adding blue sparkles. Depending on your preference this might be a good or bad thing but it’s just something I noticed. Very glossy and shiny finish which doesn’t fade during wear. These photos are with two layers applied btw.

I do not want gel nails applied they just ruined my nails. And my problem was keeping the Polish on for a decent amount of time. Well Sally Hansen's miracle gel number two top coat is fabulous and it's keeping my nails pretty for a week and a half. That's me everyone is different but my hands are in water all the time and they still stay strong and beautiful. Pretty durable and actually makes the Polish stand out...jillj

Shame on me for not digging more into this polish. It states Gel but that is misleading. This line is supposed to be a sturdier polish than normal nail polish. But it is not as sturdy as a Gel which is fine, if it actually worked! I have used it twice now and it is takes forever to dry between coats. Once the bottom coat (polish labeled 1 in the "gel" line) is on and dry, you apply the top coat (this polish I am reviewing, they have a number 2 on the bottle) which takes just as long, even with the thinnest layer. On Sally Hansen's website, it says that it should last longer and be more durable than normal polish. I am not rough on my hands and it has started chipping and coming off on several fingers already after TWO DAYS. I followed the directions to the letter the first time and the second time I gave even more time and thinner coats between drying. I will stick to the Sally Hansen regular polish with the quick dry top coat.
