  • Over the top humor - The action is naughty, fun, and better than anything you're getting at home

  • Crazy customizations - Create, share, and download the most outlandish characters ever seen, from washed-up celebrities to naked ninja pirates. Inside every sinner, there is a Saint

Description

Welcome to Steel port Years after taking Stillwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to house gold brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stillwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steel port, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control. Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite- targeted airstrike on a wrestling gang, and defend yourself against a highly- trained military force using only a sex toy in the most out-laddish gameplay scenarios ever seen, igniting a city-wide war that will set Steel port on fire. Strap it on.

  • New to this
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard Edition
I was reading reviews for this game telling about how bad it is. I bought it on recommendation from my daughter who loves the saints row games. So far I think it has been brilliant. I think what really appeals to me here is the variety in the gameplay. I've only been playing it under an hour, so far robbed a bank, jumped out of a plane shooting at people on the way down, stolen a car, broke into an armory and used a drone missile attack thingy. For the opening part of a game I feel like I've already played an entire game. Pretty Impressed so far. As to the controls they are so easy. You get bubbles popping up during the game to tell you how to do something as you come to it. This is great for me as I find a lot of games are really complicated with all the stuff you can do. I grew up with three buttons and two of those were just for mashing. Anyway, I find it to be fun, crazy and a bit silly at the same time. My daughter has a copy now too so we will try the coop mode. Will be back later to update this if it turns out the gameplay becomes dull, or my opinion changes. ... show more

  • Fun Free World Game
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard Edition
This gameplay is a lot more similar to the original series on Xbox/Playstation just like i remember. It’s a lot of fun & it’s pretty smooth playing.. ive been playing for over 3 hours now since I got it & i am enjoying it. I would recommend the game if you want the large map to play freely. Don’t hesitate i recommend! Also; it’s great that this game stores all the graphics & such into the cartridge instead of taking of space on the console (i have a 128GB memory card in my switch at all times just in case). ... show more

  • The video game equivalent of fast food
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Standard Edition
Saints Row: The Third is full on mayhem, and that’s how it should be. The ability to hijack anything and everything that could possibly constitute as a ‘vehicle,’ rain carnage with a myriad of weapons, and commit a billion lifetime’s worth of debauchery showcases a game that wears its criminal craziness on its sleeve. A steady stream of unlockables grants hefty incentive to grind away at the oodles of content available, and it’s a great gameplay loop that feels balanced and rewarding The bundled in DLC elevates said ‘oodles of content’ higher. Unfortunately, much of Saints Row: The Third’s extra goodies manifest as repetitive missions with predictable payoff, like unlocking homies and vehicles. The extra clothes and weapons are a treat though. The 3rd Street Saints are a gang that set out to tear apart rival gangs; landing in new city Steelport, the purple rocking protagonists lock horns with the Morningstar (fronted by Belgian bad boy Phillipe Loren), the Deckers (hacker extraordinaire), and a group of lucha libre wrestlers called the Luchadores. The baddies are compelling enough, but issues reside in Saints Row: The Third’s tonal execution. Whilst its predecessors won’t be winning story awards anytime soon, they at least establish real stakes, mingle them with a satisfactory cast and narrative, and handle it all with a degree of seriousness. On the flip side, Saints Row: The Third pleads with players to invest in its story, despite an inability to nail tonal consistency. It’s hard to care about anything or anyone when dick jokes and outlandish spectacle are the bedrock of most exchanges, and the result is a non-self-aware muddle that doesn’t know what it wants to be. (This is rectified in Saints Row IV thanks to a story that is as unashamedly silly as its gameplay.) Groan-inducing humor plagues Saints Row: The Third, too often falling on benign comedic tropes. Spouting gags about sex toys and strippers is amusing for a minute, but not for an entire game. Side activities are scattershot, with Tank Mayhem being destructive fun, but Heli Assault is the video game equivalent of a skin disease. Glitches are also prevalent, and I had to restart missions (and even the entire game) frequently due to them. And now, a statement that some may find controversial: Steelport is the most unmemorable sandbox environment ever conceived. I’ve invested an approximate total of two hundred hours into this fictional city, spread across Saints Row: The Third for Xbox 360 and Switch, as well as Saints Row IV for Xbox 360 and PS4. But after this wealth of investment, I still don’t recognise a f***ing inch of it. Where Saints Row 2‘s Stilwater is awash with landmarks and variety (industrial districts, towering skyscrapers, a museum, a nuclear power plant, a prison, a shopping mall, a trailer park, and more), Steelport has nothing of the sort, serving as the epitome of generic. Unfortunately, Saints Row: The Third can’t escape its age. Its gameplay and graphics have always fallen on the wonky side, but today this is more evident than ever due to the polish of modern open-world competitors like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Red Dead Redemption 2. When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was the benchmark, Saints Row: The Third’s buggy rubbish felt right at home, but the world has moved on. This haphazardly stitched-together headache just doesn’t tick the boxes anymore. Is there still fun to be had in Saints Row: The Third? Yes!!! Going to town on Saints Row: The Third‘s world with an elaborately customized character, deadly tools of destruction in hand will result in countless joys. ... show more
