The media could not be loaded. Item reviewing: Safety 1st Strollerette Compact Stroller, Mercury I was looking for a stroller to replace my travel system stroller. The stroller I previously had was great but it was huge and comes in 2 parts and took up my entire trunk. This compact stroller is still full size and comfortable for my toddler. It folds down easily and only takes up a small portion of my trunk. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble and learn how to operate it. I like that it still has the viewing window if you want to see your child from the top, a cup holder for me and a pocket to put a small wallet. There is also sufficient space at the bottom for a baby bag and purse. The only thing I wish it had was a snack/drink tray for my daughter but that’s not a deal breaker because it is designed to be compact. I will just order one of those if needed. Overall this was a great buy, great quality and exactly what I needed!

Update 4/26/24: After quite a bit of use, including a long day at the zoo, this stroller continues to impress. It maneuvers amazingly and is the perfect size for busy places. It holds a good amount in the storage underneath, but that becomes inaccessible when the child is fully reclined. There is also the frustration that the straps can easily come unsnapped when trying to buckle the child in which leaves you fiddling with reconnecting and the padding sliding off. As I mentioned in my original review, the limited number of recline levels remains a concern. I often find myself wishing for more flexibility, as I sometimes struggle to find the right position for my toddler. There are occasions when I want him to sit up straighter to see something better, but the stroller's incline is already at its maximum. Conversely, the next recline setting feels too far back, giving my child the impression that it is time to rest or nap when all I want is for him to have a sip from his cup. While these issues are not dealbreakers or reasons to deduct stars, they are important considerations for parents evaluating their options. ORIGINAL REVIEW: ASSEMBLY & SMELL The assembly for this stroller was completed in just five minutes. This involved removing all of the protective materials and attaching the wheels. It is worth mentioning that this stroller has a very strong plasticky smell right out of the box and it lasts for a day or two. STROLLER ANXIETY Now let’s get into the details and the truth, I suffer from severe stroller anxiety. This is not a joke. The fear of struggling to open or fold a stroller while out and about is a major concern for me. I have experienced this issue with various models including the Chicco KeyFit Caddy Frame, Mompush versions, and the Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller. While I acknowledge that my anxiety exacerbates the situation, I can't help but wish for a reliable stroller that doesn't induce panic every time I use it. EASE OF FOLDING This stroller folds effortlessly and compactly, even with the canopy extended. When folded, its dimensions are approximately 10 inches in width and 42.75 inches in height. To fold this stroller, the fold/carry handle is first pulled up on, and then fold lock lever (located on the right-hand side) is pressed. Then, the handles are pushed forward until the stroller is completely folded, and the fold lock will engage on its own. So far, no stroller folding and unfolding anxiety here. COMFORT & HARNESS FEATURES This stroller has padded strap covers and a padded harness, all securely stitched in place. Unlike the Velcro type that tends to get lost. To be clear, these strap covers can still slip off and get lost, but I think I will have better luck with these ones. The harness system consists of a 3-point design with two shoulder straps and a waist strap, all of which are easy to adjust. Additionally, the buckle is easy to operate. RECLINE OPTIONS This stroller offers a convenient one-hand recline operated by lifting the recline lever. It offers three backrest recline settings, which I find slightly limiting. I do appreciate that it reclines enough for my toddler to nap comfortably (he didn’t tell me, but he looks comfortable). In a pinch, the reclined position could also be used for a quick diaper change. HANDLEBARS & BRAKES The foam handles of this stroller provide a comfortable grip and are at a height suitable for both me (5'8’’) and my spouse (6 feet). The design of the handles allows for effortless one-handed steering. There are individual parking brakes on the back of each set of the rear wheels on this stroller. There are also swivel locks offered on both sets of front wheels. It is suggested to use these only for travel over rocky or uneven surfaces. ACCESSORIES & STORAGE There is a cup holder attachment that can be affixed to either side of the stroller. I think it is neat it is positioned on the inner side of the handle. Its internal placement prevents snagging and facilitates navigation through narrower passages. According to the product manual, it's advised not to exceed a weight of 2 pounds in the cup holder. The basket on this stroller is a decent size and can hold up to 10 pounds per the product’s manual. Unfortunately, my toddler’s ginormous diaper bag doesn’t fit, but it is awkwardly large. There is also a covered pocket attached to the back of the seat. The manual states not to exceed one pound in the pocket to prevent tipping. I am just happy that my iPhone SE fits perfectly in it – with room to spare. COMPLIANCE WITH DISNEY PARKS REQUIREMENTS The product’s description states that this stroller meets Disney Parks requirements. As of May 1st, 2019, Disney limits stroller dimensions to 31″ (79 cm) wide x 52″ (132 cm) long. This stroller measures 19 inches wide at the wheels and approximately 27 inches long. Please make sure to check the official website (DisneyWorld dot com slash rules or Disneyland dot com slash rules) before your visit, as regulations may have changed since this review was written on 4/6/24. FINAL THOUGHTS & OVERVIEW This stroller folds easily, which is a relief considering my anxiety, though it is not exactly a one-handed fold. It does lack a tray or cup holder for the baby/toddler. I plan to spend more time with this stroller to assess its performance on different terrains, and I will update my review if I encounter any challenges. I believe this stroller offers great value with its numerous features, especially considering its $99 price tag.

I love this stroller! It has more storage room than other strollers similar to this one and it's slightly bigger overall, making it more comfortable for the kids. Easy to use, it reclines in case your kid wants to take a nap and if fits in small vehicles.

This is a better version of umbrella stroller. It's light weight yet strong and safe. I definitely recommend it to use it for toddlers.

This is a perfect travel stroller for families on the go! It is lightweight and compact and takes up little space in the trunk when not in use. It does require a small amount of assembly but was easy to complete. It maneuvers really well on all types of ground including on rocky terrain. It has a cup holder and small storage area by the handles. It has a bigger storage area below the sitting area. It folds down easily and locks in place. It has an umbrella cover great for the sun or a light rain. Overall we love it and it seems to be made of great quality.

Compared to my previous stroller, which was bulky and heavy, this one is a breath of fresh air. Not only was it easy to assemble, but it also opens and closes effortlessly. Its sturdy and durable build gives me peace of mind while navigating various terrains. This safety 1st stroller is just what I needed. My other stoller was so big and heavy. This stroller was easy to assemble, it also opens and closes easily. It's very sturdy and durable. It has lots of space at the bottom that can fit my diaper bag or whatever else I might need on my travels. I also like the sleek look of the stroller and the color. This stroller would also make a great gift. I definitely recommend.
