I bought this for a back up seat for my grand babies. We have a 22 month old and a newborn. This car seat easily adapts for both kids. My sister and I take turns babysitting one or the other on any given day and we transfer this car seat easily between our cars. The kids parents each have a car seat in their cars ( Graco SlimFit and a Diono Radian® 3QX), but they are heavy and transferring them from their mom and dads cars on a daily basis was a pain. This Safety 1st seat is lightweight and easy to get in and out of the car, but still feels solid and safe when installed. Initially it was a bit of a struggle to install as we had way more play in the seat than the one and a half inches recommended for safety. After reading the instructions more thoroughly found that if we applied weight on the seat using a knee as we were buckling it, the seat became more solid as the air from the car cushions deflated and made the seat much more solid in the car. In fact there is NO wiggling at all. It feels like its cemented into the car. The 22 month old totally loves this car seat! She likes using both cup holders and finds the cushioning quite comfortable. She easily goes to sleep when she needs to and her head is supported quite nicely. Plenty of leg room for her too as she grows. The one month old hasn't been out in it yet, but the extra padding and adjustments for him are easy schmeezy. The washable/dryable feature is the best. Our girl loves blueberries and raspberries in her snack cup so you can imagine what a mess that can make. Bought it on Prime Day and spent less than half than what the Graco cost. I have 2 of these in my Audi a4 sedan. They match really nicely with the interior. But more importantly they are spacious enough for me to adjust my seat comfortably im 5’8 alittle fluffy. Now for my kids. They say it is the most comfy seat they have and our other car seats are forever car seats by a competitor. The cup holder design is great because now my kids can’t lose them like the did with the others. The draw back is the rear facing latch system it’s a cheap strap with 2 hooks it leaves a lot to be desired but it is still safe and functional and had the car seat safety person at the fire department check them out. they are easy to install. And secure. Another big plus is that these are considerably lighter than the bigger brands out there and makes it less of a workout to get them in and out of the car. They are also easy to adjust. Another big win for me in a car seat. All around I love these car seats. Hopefully I won’t need to but if I ever had to get new ones I’d defintely buy these again. ... show more

Normally dont write reviews but going to write the review i needed at the time when i bought it. Previously had a Graco TriRide. Caused my kid to have car sickness, threw up twice in it the week we got it. It was impossible to clean, had to trash it. Tried this one instead. I've had it for over a year at this point. Kid has had maybe two or three car sickness episodes in it due to outside factors, I don't blame the seat. She seems to like it well enough, seems comfy enough and she likes putting stuff in the cup holders. Cons: it can be difficult to install into car and to tighten the straps on kid. Usually my husband has to install it into the car. I can do it, but I have to push the seat down by sitting in it, and tighten the strap by pulling really hard. It is slightly easier to tighten the install strap by taking the front edge of the car sear cover off just enough to pull the install strap back through the the gap under the cup holder but then you have to get the car seat cover back on. (There are probably other reviews with a better explanation). I dont use the seatbelt installation method because it makes the car seat way too sideways, no matter how loose or tight the seat belt strap is, since the shoulder strap is angled so high. Might be fine when we switch to front facing though. For the actual kid harness, the shoulder straps do get caught and it can get annoying to make sure it's tight enough on the kid if you can't pull it hard enough, because it gets caught on the back opening. But they can get tight enough, just something to be aware of. I knew that when I bought it so wasn't surprised. Pros: the cover removes and goes back on easy. Slides off. There's 4 buttons. Easy. And it can be DRIED. No more waiting a day or two for it to air dry. I bought it specifically because I wanted to be able to dry the cover. Cleaning food and vomit - it's not super easy but way easier than the Graco seat we had. I do recommend getting 6inch cotton swab qtips and maybe a few long toothpick/skewers, maybe even a few pipe cleaners to have on hand just in case. But mainly the 6in cotton swabs. Buy them before you need them. Almost all spots can be cleaned, if you angle it right. Not great, harder if you have bigger hands, but not impossible. The ability to get it clean was the number 1 reason I bought this seat. There might be newer, better seats now but this one worked for us! ... show more

We own an expensive Nuna as our daily car seat. We love that seat with the exception of the weight. I was dreading taking it along on our most recent trip. We did have a need for a second car seat for our other car. I thought this might be an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. Received this next day and gave it a good once over. The fit and finish is not on the same level as the Nuna, but I didn't expect it to be. It is a very nice car seat and has many features that make it convenient such as, extended rear facing, recline adjustment, soft material, infant insert, and attached anchor strap. The weight was amazing. It made travel so much easier. I just threw it into a generic car seat backpack bag and made it through the airport with ease. We have a lot of travel coming up and I'm so happy we have this seat. We didn't have any issues getting the seat to sit level like some other reviewers had mentioned. The instruction book does state to use a rolled towel if you have this issue. I did have some difficulty getting the seat secured tightly with the anchor straps. I ended up using both anchor strap and the seat belt to ensure the seat didn't move more than 1 inch. I would recommend this car seat if you travel a lot and are in the rear facing season with your child. ... show more
