This is a thin, woven, entryway mat material. It is not shiny and seems durable and able to be hosed off. I am not using it outside, so I cannot comment on it's durability in that situation, but for a high traffic entryway, it is great for not staining or looking dirty. It definitely needs rug tape on a smooth surface and is NOT cushy so if you want cushy you will need a rug pad. We are using it to cover cold tile so it is more comfortable in the winter, and for this use it's just fine. It came rolled and had some ripples, but steaming with a hand steamer or ironing with a towel over the rug will work to remove the wrinkles. ... show more
