Seeing the word 'shag' always gives me pause. The 70s flashbacks are hard to shake. However, I did want something that would be soft underfoot in our bedroom, so what to do? Hoping for the best, I decided to give this nicely priced rug a try. What a pleasant surprise! It's soft and fluffy, but not too fluffy. Rolling it in reverse and using 2-sided rug grip tape had it laying flat in no time. I thought it was solid gray, but there actually are different shades of gray, some lighter, some darker. This rug looked nice in photos online. Ordered it and it was delivered on our porch not in a box. It was only in plastic. At first, we thought the wrong rug was shipped because it was only 4 feet long in the package. We saw it was folded. First red flag. We cut open a small part of the plastic to see the rug quality. When we touched the rug, pieces rubbed right off. This rug looked as if it came right out of an all night party from the 70's. Horrible quality, color, and texture. When attempting to return it, I was told it would not be accepted because there isn't a box. IT WAS DELIVERED WITHOUT A BOX. I am disabled. It was expected that I find a box and package and return it. Horrible Horrible Horrible. Never will I order anything like this. Beware. ... show more

Nice looking rug but so far, it hasn't flattened out all the way. This rug tends to stay wrinkled and one edge is turned slightly up. I am going to try a 2 sided tape to keep it down. It is soft and vacuums nicely. I didn't return it because I do like the way it looks. It doesn't have the usual heavy trim on the outside edge that all my other Safavieh rugs have so I am guessing that is why it hasn't lain flat yet. Fingers crossed. ... show more

I love this carpet, but i put it in my Motor home and camping got it so dirty, I am trying to clean it myself without sending to the cleaners. If anyone has suggestions....please. It is very soft and comfortable for the kids to sit on instead of the couch. Covers the cold floors well.

I was looking for a plush, soft runner for my hallway, but didn't want a "shag" carpet. This one seemed to fit the bill from the pics online. I purchased the runner, 2'-3" x 10ft long in "taupe". First of all, delivery was supposed to occur on a Friday and it wasn't received until the following Tuesday. It arrived, unboxed, only wrapped in plastic. The size of the roll should have been my first clue how cheap of a rug this is, as it was so thin. I unwrapped it, and rolled it out, and found the cheapest, nastiest excuse for a rug I've ever seen. I have seen better looking rugs at the dollar stores - (seriously). The "taupe" color was definitely more like chocolate, very dark brown. The fibers were flattened & compressed, however, I figured after I vacuumed it would fluff back up. Vacuum did not do what i had hoped, with the fibers appearing to separate and laying ever which way. Couldn't get them all to be in same general direction, and the ones at the edges seemed like they wanted to jump into the vacuum. (Not sure the pictures i included really show what i am describing). Its texture/feel is okay as far as softness goes, but the appearance is very off putting. The chemical smell emitted from the rug was horrible, and I can only hope that airing it out outside for a bit will lessen that stench. This rug cost over $50 and I don't feel like it was worth that much. The lack of a shipping box is going to make it a major hassle to try and return. ... show more
