I liked these shoes - nice looking, very light and no hot spots around toes and ankles. What I do not like is that their soles are VERY thin and bunch up every time you pull your foot out, so that you have to push them back down each time. If you wear them off a paved road or cement sidewalk - like on dirt or gravel path, you will feel every tiny stone or bark or roots. Def not for hiking of any kind. Once I replaced the soles with inserts I bought separately, they are fine but just be aware of the need to put other sole or orthotic into for bottom of foot padding. ... show more

There isnt anything awesome about the shoe. I find no arch support. The tongue seems a bit longer than most. Tho the shoe is comfortable. I wear an 11 in womens and its hard to find a shoe that works and fits well. Its a nice basic shoe. My feet dont hurt. Thats a plus. I walk on concrete all. Day. Retail. 8 to 11 hrs a day. I do a lot of hiking and find that boots are sometimes just too heavy or hot. These work perfectly as they have great arch support and are sturdy. I need toe room so was very happy to find that they come in "W". This gives me the toe room that I need when hiking yet the rest of the shoe fits snuggly at the heal. Great customer service in that I initially tried the regular size 9 and found that my toes felt a bit pinched. I returned them and the company readily replaced with 9W. No questions asked. Great shoes that were comfortable right out of the box. I did not feel like they needed "breaking in." I do have narrow feet so as usual, I could not find narrows but I am able to lace tight enough to make them fit nicely. 3 miles daily on city streets and sidewalks, 5-7 days each week tends to eat up soles. These shoes are the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever owned. I was late ordering them and I planned a walk across the Michigan Mackinaw Bridge. Without breaking them in, I wore them for my entire 5k walk, with no problems. Even though I was going uphill for half my walk, I didn't have any issues. My feet, legs and entire body felt great.     • Pretty good except for the insole

I have had trouble finding a good pair of walking shoes that fit well so decided to try these. I do like the way they fit, well enough to order a second pair to have on back up. However, I really don’t like this trend of shoe manufacturers gluing the insoles in the shoes. I wear prescription orthotics for workouts so always remove the manufacturer’s insoles. The insoles in these can be removed using heat to help loosen the glue. But when I used heat to do this with a different brand shoe, it pretty much destroyed the insole so I have been reluctant to try it with these. It would be nice to keep the insole for those days when I am doing something light that doesn’t demand my orthotics. Gluing in the insole seems to be a short sighted move on the part of shoe manufacturers. I hope they do better market research in the future. I do like the fit otherwise, and the color selection. I normally wear 8.5 medium and 8.5 medium in these shoes is a good fit. ... show more

These shoes are really nice, they fit fairly well. One of the shoes Had the insole glued down, but it wasn’t glued down in a way that was fully centered inside the shoe. So when you put your foot on top of it, it felt sideways. I had understood from the reviews that you could remove the bottom insoles and then put in orthotics. That is not the case. And besides that I think the shoe was good. But if I can’t take the insole out to put orthotics in, they don’t fit my needs. So I returned them. ... show more

I've purchased this brand before and this pair fit nicely, just like the previous pairs. I bought two pairs (different colors) to replace some older Ryka's... and to replace a pair which one of my Pugs apparently found very tasty, as the precious, lovable little brat chewed the tongue to shreds :-)
