    • Sizing and putting on are a problem
I wear a size 11 with some shoes, and a size 11 1/2 in others. Very few women's shoes come in size 11 1/2 so if the 11 doesn't fit, I don't buy the shoes. With this boot the size 11 just fit. BUT, it was almost impossible, and painful, to put on or take off, and absolutely required the use of a long-handled shoe horn. Without the long handled shoe horn it would have been impossible! A short handled one would NOT have worked. Also, I could only wear very thin socks with the size 11. I prefer warmer socks with boots, so I am keeping the size 12 boots even though that size is a little too big and these would definitely be too big without bulky socks. Because they are winter boots, I hope that will work. The larger size is a little easier to put on/off (only a little bit easier) but still needs the long handled shoe horn. They are cute and they have a little arch support which I also need. I think they'll be good for winter use. If I only wanted them for fashion use, the size 11 would work, but getting them on and off would not be worth the effort. That is their biggest drawback and it is too bad as they are cute. If you want them for a fashion shoe and plan to order your actual size, you will have extreme difficulty trying to put them on or take them off.     • Prefer Over Skechers
I thought Skechers was my best fit but Ryka topped it. Now that I'm a real senior citizen, my feet demand a fit that meets its needs for a true size in a 9.5 medium, doesn't crowd my toes, has a little arch support and hugs my narrow heel and cushions my callouses. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes because my feet aren't really narrow but they are thin and lack a good arch so I usually have to buy lace ups to hold it in place. But don't get me wrong, they aren't for skinny, thin feeted women, and if you're a wide width or regular size foot, they'll be fine because the overall design of these shoes are proportioned so well that even a weird foot like mine can wear them well. Another big plus for this ankle boot is how lightweight they are, unlike some ankle boots from Skechers that have heavy soles. I also purchased a slip on knit shoe from Ryka and it fits perfectly too. ... show more

Very attractive style, which I was so excited to receive . I wear Ryka workout shoes all the time and love them. However, these were a tiny bit tight in the toe box, which might have resolved itself if the fabrication hadn’t been so stiff. The “suede” was backed with cardboard or something like that. When I took a step they knocked into my shin bone. So sorry to have to return. Please make a similar shoe with a more comfortable fabric. ... show more

I was looking so forward to these shoes. When they arrived I opened with excitement. At first glance of shoe box I was cautious due to the scotch tape holding box shut. Then I opened no tissue, no tags, no new shoe smell, just shoes in box. These were used shoes!!! The bottoms definitely showed that they were used. They had dirt in crevices. They had makeup finger prints on them. And to top it off there was someone’s hair on them. Ewe! Yuck! And angry. These were NOT the new shoes I paid for. ... show more

These are actually gorgeous short boots. And as is Ryka's best feature, they are narrow in the heel - just like I like them. They were slippery on my wood floors, but bare feet are slippery on these floors. I went outside and walked on my porch - perfect. They fit well - am moving into 7/5 after wearing 7 for years. Either I'm growing or shoe sizes are changing. Actually from what I read, sizes are all over the place. However, the 3 last pairs of shoes I bought are a 7.5.. So, I guess that's my size. They also accept my orthotics that I transfer from shoe to shoe. Love them! I bought these to replace my Ryka booties that are about 8-9 years old. Good for wearing in the house but not to go outside in. They're really worn but no complaints from me - love Rykas. ... show more
