I needed these curtains to help block light. For starters, I work overnights and sleep during the day. However, the more pressing issues was my concern over potential UV damage from sunlight trickling through the venetian blinds, which only partial obscured light into the room. I measured the window and originally bought curtains that were a tad too short hoping they would suffice. It worked somewhat, but the light still reached my clothing rack during afternoon hours. So, I made the decision to return those and bought some which were longer. My first intention was to trim the curtains to sit just above the window AC unit. Summer is on the way, and I didn't want the curtains blocking the vents from cooling the room properly. However, I changed my mind and decided to use some redneck ingenuity instead. I folded the curtains neatly to the position I wanted and used decorative duct tape to keep the curtains above the vents. I also tucked in the sides of the curtains for a neater look and used clear packaging tape to hold it in place. Ultimately, it was a faster and easier solution than removing, measuring, cutting, hemming, and rehanging the curtains. As a bonus, it now blocks light even better than before, while also solving the need to have the curtains not block the AC unit. The mocha color is nice. I had originally bought in the biscotti shade, but I decided to purchase a darker color after I returned the previous pair. I think it matches the decor in here better.

I have been looking for shorter curtains that were black out for two years. Was sceptical about these but so very pleased I ordered. They are perfect. Needed matching regular size for standard windows to go with the shorter ones and being able to choose from a lot of different sizes made this process perfect. Not too wrinkly, as some have mentioned and they steamed out well. Haven't washed them and they are room darkening as stated in the description. I believe it was written that if you chose a lighter color they were not as effective. I love these curtains! Well made and the material is beautiful. I am waiting on the magnetic tie backs to complete the look. Try these curtains out. You won't be disappointed.

I have black outs on all my windows. This one was for my door. Yes, the little glass insert on the front door, with a magnetic curtain holder. Love it! Keeps that morning sun from blinding me awake from another part of the house. When I'm ready for the daylight, I just slide the whole thing down. Works well for temperature control too. Had to tape some serious foam over this little door window in a polar vortex, even with a storm door. Hopefully will not have to do this again. Also helps in keeping the inside light out of view at night from someone up to no good. No one will know your schedule.

If you are looking for "thermal" curtains, these are not for you. These are black-out curtains. With that being said, I was searching for a thermal-type curtain when I saw these. They seem to be a good black-out curtain, and may meet my needs along with the mini-blinds I have in the window. They seem to be nice quality and are fairly heavy. I did wash them in gentle cycle in cold water with no fabric softener, as they were wrinkled when they arrived. I tumbled on very low temperature until damp but not dry. The wrinkles still remained, so I will be ironing them to remove the wrinkles. I feel the price was good, considering you get two panels per package. I would recommend these for a black-out curtain. I was hoping they would help with blocking sun, but no as stated in other reviews you would need to purchase a darker color to a true sun blocking drape. But on hand I ironed the wrinkles out which are normal in any drape coming out of packaging Use a steamer or steam iron, once wrinkles are gone they hang nicely and for bedrooms no one can see you, maybe a shadow if night time and light on but I get total privacy For the price I’d purchase these again
