I just wanted something fun for my sim rig. You could talk about reach distance from wheel to shifter, but i didn't want to take myself too seriously because i'm far from it. The Fanatec shifter i had uses a weird thread pattern so this universal one fit the bill. You can't expect too much with "universal" purchases, but I was surprised about the quality. It's tightly put together, slight wobble around the guard, but it's not noticeable or audible. The wrap looks and feels great. comfortable and soft. I'm sure it's fake leather, but that doesn't bother me. Attaches easily, grub screws are strong and the adapters worked great for my application. Zero wobble overall. If you're using this for your real car, definitely install a short shifter with it. You'll be thankful due to the extra length. However, I cannot attest to its durability in a real car as I am not slamming it in my rig. Seems solid enough and i have had no issues so far. ... show more

It's got a built in adaptor with four rubber sleeves of varying sizes as well as the allen wrench and the bolts you need to install it included. Certainly makes a statement and is a fun and affordable upgrade to give the shifter some personality. If I had to find a flaw in it, I'd say that the wrapping on the handle is a plastic material not cloth, but this is a small quibble and will probably make cleaning it and product lifespan better. ... show more

I bought this to get a laugh out of people and didn't expect much from it. I was surprised at the quality and how much I actually like this thing! Fits great, doesn't wiggle or move. It's also actually metal and not plastic like I expected. I installed this on a 5 speed 03 pt cruiser that is my hobby car (car audio). I built a custom console and the factory shifter was extremely short once the console was built. This was taller and kinda funny so I ordered it. I'm not a short guy so raising the shifter actually made it way more comfortable to shift. I have zero complaints so 5 stars from me! ... show more

    • It's a little shakey in automatic vehicles
I bought this shifter for an automatic vehicle and got it set up relatively easy, the only issue is that it's not truly meant for automatics, but for manual cars. On my particular vehicle the shifter doesn't lock in as well as I'd like meaning it swivels slightly and gets stuck if I manage to press down slightly too hard. Luckily thats only happened when I was in park but I'd rather it never happen. Maybe if the lower part of the shifter, the "sword" area maybe was longer it would lock in better. ... show more

The handle is BEAUTIFUL and is perfect! But, the thing you need to make sure of before getting this(if you have a stick shift/manual transmission), is that you don't have a reverse lift shifter. This means that you have to lift up a knob on the shifter to put it into the reverse gear. If you do, you won't be able to put this on(without getting it perfect adjusted by a ironworker or blacksmith). If you don't, then you're good ... show more
