I am disabled and can't paint to save my life. This paint makes it easy. No runs! If you need a good paint this is it. Pictured is a tray on a form of a gimbal. I painted the gimbal. I recently used Rust-Oleum 249087 Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint in Matte Clear to finish off a kitchen shelf I built and stained, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. This product offers a convenient alternative to traditional brush-on polyurethane/resin/finisher of choice, with some notable differences. First and foremost, the ease of use of this spray paint is remarkable. Unlike the often cumbersome process of applying polyurethane with a brush and having to worry about the thickness of coats, this spray paint goes on smoothly and evenly with minimal effort. The ergonomic design of the can and the nozzle make it a breeze to apply, ensuring a consistent finish without brush marks or streaks. It is very user friendly. However, it's worth noting that Rust-Oleum's Matte Clear spray paint is not as thick as standard brush-on polyurethane so I really can't speak to protection level from moisture and stains for real wood. While this is not necessarily a drawback, it does mean that multiple coats may be necessary to achieve the desired level of protection and sheen. The thin application can be an advantage in some cases, as it dries quickly and allows for faster recoating. Just be prepared to apply several coats to achieve the same level of thickness and durability as a traditional finisher. Like I said, I used this on wood that will be susceptible to kitchen cleaners and cooking residue, so I'm not sure how this will hold up for that as there was no tangible difference in feel on the wood after using. That being said, it's worked so far so I'd say Rust-Oleum 249087 Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint in Matte Clear is an excellent choice for those looking for an easy-to-use alternative to brush-on polyurethane. I used this spray paint for my base board heating. It has great coverage. I had a lot of rust stains. I taped everything around the baseboard and wore gloves and 2 masks. Just make sure you have good ventilation. I let it dry overnight and it came out beautiful! No drips.
