I wanted a cotton look for the douvet covers and this one is both reasonably priced and fits the look I was searching for! I didn't have to spend the pottery barn money but it gives me the look with a fluffy douvet insert and some decorative pillows. Love the cozy vibes it gives also. It is rather wrinkly though, but I actually preferred that to provide more natural cotton look! This duvet cover is NOT soft or smooth at all, so idk why people are writing that, but I actually love the roughness. I tend to dislike super smooth satin-y polyester feeling sheets, like the ones that feel "soft" but have so much static; they feel so unnatural. This is lightweight and very much feels like cotton. Okay- I don’t know why people are saying this duvet cover isn’t soft… if you are a long time cotton lover when it comes to sheets, these are pretty darn soft for the price. It isn’t as soft as microfiber, but it is much more breathable and god for your skin. The color was gorgeous, and the texture it brought into my room was just what I was looking for. The bed cover was perfect for my daughter's duvet. It looks lovely. We have had it for about 5 months and washed it multiple times. The fabric is not as soft and is a little scratchy to the touch.

    • NOT SOFT. Feels rough even after washing with fabric softener

I bought this because another one that I liked had reviews saying it was rough, but this one’s reviews said soft. WRONG. Its about as soft as crinoline. It feels like polyester and can loofah your legs if you’re so inclined to multitask in bed. I’m SO disappointed. Not only this but the strings to attach the comforter are actually closed loops. So to attach to the loops of my comforter, I either have to knot it together or cut the strings so I can tie a bow. The other duvet I was looking at had side and top strings, besides the corners. This only have 4 corner loops. I like the zipper bottom, that’s all I like about it. Such a shame. I hope it softens over time, but I doubt it based on the type of process they put this cotton through- more like muslin. I did wash it with fabric softener and dried it as well with fabric softener sheets. Good thing, I might have cut my leg open on this roughness! Lol rougher than percale, rougher than 250 thread cotton. ... show more
