I am not an “old person” and I don’t think I am particularly smelly, but I am using this just as a regular daily soap to make sure I smell good. The fragrance of the bar in the shower is noticeable, and at first I thought it was too strong. But over the course of using it, I have grown to like it. I don’t think you can smell the fragrance of the soap on your skin after you are dried off. It seems to be a documented thing that persimmon soap can help “old people smell”. A really nice feature is that it comes with a small mesh bag that can hang one bar in your shower. You lather up the soap directly in the bag and then rinse off the suds when you’re done and hang it on a hook to dry. One bar of soap lasted me for about 60 showers. A good value. It comes with three bars and one bag.

I ordered this Runsidan brand “Persimmon Soap” made in China, as it states it is a “Natural Body Bar Soap for Old People Smell”... I “be” old, don wanna smell old! Also, I got a hoot out of the “old peope smell” descriptor, and thought I could use as a gag gift, if I didn’t use/like the soap. ATTRIBUTES: *The three bars of soap come individually wrapped in clear cellophane. They are each 2”x3”x.75”. They come in a nice 2”x3”x2.75” cardstock box, wrapped in cellophane and with the same info noted in the heading on Amazon, printed on the box. Expiration date of 10/28. There is an ingredients list, in very small white print, on side of the box. Ingredients are: persimmon extract, persimmon tannin, olive oil, water, sucrose, sorbitol, propyline glycol, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium dodecyl sulfate, myristic acid, lauric acid, and stearic acid. *The soap is a reddish orange color. It has a glycerin or glass type appearance, not creamy or cloudy in color as some soaps. *The soap does lather, but not readily or a lot, as compared to other soaps I have used. *If you place an opened bar of the soap directly under your nose there is a very slight musty smell. I would say there is little to no smell to the soap. I am not sensitive to smell and actually enjoy some scent in my soap, so this is not a plus for me but may be for those who dislike or have difficulty with smells. *I did a skin test area on my arm before using in the shower. I have had no negative reaction to the soap after using several times. *I am a skeptic about “old people smell” or “nonenal” odor being specific to old people. Biologically some people have more issues with body odor than others. Poor hygiene and sweaty activities results in body odor for most everyone. I purposefully did not use deodorant on several occasions after using this soap. I found it did neutralize odors effectively. My under arms had no odor after a full day with no deodorant. Other areas were also odor free, though I don’t typically notice odor in those areas, unless very active and sweaty. OVERALL: This is not my favorite soap for scent, texture, or hydrating my skin, but it is the most effective I have used to neutralize odors. I am uncertain I will order again, as my issues with body odor is manageable with regular soap. I can recommend, for those where odor is a primary concern, to give this soap a try.

Keep this soap in the included mesh bag, as it will aid in creating a nice lather, provide a bit of exfoliating action and will keep the soap dry if you can hang it up. These 3.5 ounce bars are similar to glycerin soaps and will melt if resting in water. The 3 bars are individually wrapped. Each has a very light and pleasant scent. This soap does not seem to dry the skin. These are a good quality and will last long if you keep them out of water when done using them. Pricing is good for the 3 bars.
