You did your big 1 with this book Hunntiy…Sis this book right here took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions…Nah you know we’ve all either been through some of the stuff that Kera dealt with or know someone that has been through those same things with a no good mother and man…And have had a great man standing right in front of us the whole time…Hopefully she will finally know her worth when it come to Stef…Becauseshes no longer dealing with her crazy tail mother…I’m about to start Book 2 ... show more

This was a good read, don't like how it ended, I hate to be left not knowing and having to wait but I will say this Kyla was a sad excuse for a mother or a woman, blaming her kids for having them when she's the one who got them to begin with. Also, she let Devin the suspected pedophile come back around after leaving her and her girls high and dry to live in the projects for 10 years, chile please, pitiful mother! Stefan seems like a liar and Kera better get hip to players real fast! Not sure what will happen between her and Kamill but she's silly not at least try and see! I hope the next book will be released soon if it hasn't yet! ... show more

Lawd this cliffhanger!!! I am not feeling Stefan at all. He was outta her life as a child for a reason. Kamil Kamil Kamil this man has me so intrigued I cannot wait for him to sweep Kera off her feet. Patiently waiting on book 2.

This was a really good book if you can get past the abuse. I say that because it’s really real life. I recently sat down with a young girl who is only 14 and going through this. This book is a great awareness for someone reading who is in this situation or knows of someone dealing with this kind of trauma. I hate it ended like it did and I hope there is another book to read about how things turned out. One thing the author did well was highlight how a person can change their situation even if they come out of a bad environment. ... show more

She is struggling to care for her two younger sisters and attend college. While they live at home, their mother has never showed them love, rather she loves her bottle. One day, Kera attends a show with her best friend, Lai. There she runs into her old childhood crush Stefan and also rapper KMillz.
