This is a REALLY cute costume ! I’m a curvy girl over 5’9 and all over the place when it comes to sizes. I have broad shoulders and shaped like an upside down triangle, so I was really worried on how this was going to fit so I went plus size with this. So glad I did ! This costume fit like a glove for me including the chest ! The petticoat underneath the dress gives it a really cute lift and flow. The only downsides ? First, The Velcro that fastens the back is pretty flimsy and I had to safety pin it. I wish they would have done more stitching around the waist to define it like the movie dress. The BIGGEST issue is how loose the shoulder straps are. I’m going to have someone with sewing know how make some alterations to the dress to make it more movie authentic. All in all it’s a great comfortable costume that make you wanna skip down the yellow brick road all day long ! ... show more

    • Don’t get if your arms are on the bigger side….

Costume fit great but not in the arms. My arms aren’t that big. I normally take a l/xl but the sleeves were tight on my arms and had to push them as far as they could possibly go to help relieve some of the tightness. Getting it off my arms…now that’s another story. Basically had to shimmy it off.

I am all over the board on clothing sizes so finding things that fit perfectly is very rare. I'm anywhere from a size 14 to 18 in pants and usually either a large to xxl in shirts. I weigh around 190 and am 5'5". I went with this plus size costume because I didn't want to risk getting a normal sized one and it be too short or too tight. In all fairness I did not read measurements for this product all that closely. I only read reviews and it ended up way too big. The neck and the arms fit perfectly and I had no issues there and the waist is stretchy so that fit nicely too! My issues were with the straps, which are sewn on by the shoulders, being so big that they sagged and it made the costume look very unattractive. Also it was way to big in the chest area, im not big breasted (38C) so that may have been designed for larger woman than me. Overall it was a good costume and I felt classy going out with my kids rather than trashy. We did use some safety pins creatively to make it work more for my body by overall I would still recommend! Just make sure to read and use the measurements and not just rely on reviews ... show more

Bought this for a favorite book character day. The fit is boxy so if you are busty it will cling to the chest. Overall, it’s what I was looking for and it was a reasonable price.

    • Needed alterations!

The costume looks great before you actually put it on. I'm usually a 1x so I wasn't worried about it being to small. When I tried it on I was a little disappointed because the arm band part was too tight, the bust was too big so the "overall" straps look loose and ill fitting, and the neck part felt a little uncomfortable/tight and although I'm 5'11 them hem still seemed a little long but I know someone else would probably appreciate that. I didn't feel like mailing it back because the rest of my family already have their wizard of oz costumes so it's to late to change the costume theme. So I did my own alterations; removed the neck piece so it's more off the shoulders looking, removed the buttons to cut and hem the straps which were too long, sewed the buttons back on and I cut the sleeves and hemmed the dress and added a petticoat underneath to give it more pizazz. I'd recommend buying this only if you're smaller than a 1x or if you're creative enough to make your own stylish alterations in case it doesn't look or feel right. I gave it 3stars only because I was able to "hook it up" on my own. This is one of those costumes that should be tried on before purchasing. ... show more

The quality of this costume is good, it was comfortable, and I received lots of compliments while wearing it. However, the proportions are unusual - something I already knew was a possibility from reading reviews before buying. The overall fit was fine but it was too small in some places and too large in others. The sleeves were so tight I had to actually cut the seam, and the neck was too tight to be able to fasten the velcro at the top of the back. The opposite was true of the straps, which were so long i had to pin several inches. For a relatively inexpensive costume, I thought it was fine and would buy it again. Just know in advance you might have to do a little adjusting. I will definitely be Dorothy again! ... show more
