I bought this costume in a large for my daughter who is about 90 lbs and 4'8" (wears a size 12/14) - The large was perfect. All the edges were well finished and the fabric was nice and shiny, no blemishes. It is a very well put together costume with bright, vibrant colors and impressive detailing. you can tell that a lot of thought was put into this costume! I was surprised to find the tail is actually held up by clear straps (like the kind in blouses that hold them onto hangers) that are meant to go on the child's wrist. If you look carefully you can see them in the seller's photo. I had thought that the tail was going to have some kind of plastic ribbing that held it out and open on its own. But I will say that my daughter really liked the wrist straps better because she could 'flap' the tail feathers. I love how large the 'tail' is. I saw some other peacock costumes at the store and they had a sad, tiny little fan of a tail. This costume really captures the grandiosity of the peacock tail!! The only sub-par part of the costume was the comb attached to the headpiece. The headpiece itself is really nice and big, but it's attached to a flimsy comb...not a big deal though, I just took the cheap comb off and hot glued the head piece to a headband - problem solved! Overall, I am really impressed and pleased with the costume. Definitely recommended!!

Not only does this costume fit perfectly, it’s absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait for Halloween to do my little girl's hair and makeup! I will barely have to do anything because this costume sells itself. The material is gorgeous, it looks beautiful on her- I have no complaints. I hope it’s warm bc I don’t even want a coat to jeopardize the costume being seen fully! I do suggest buying the pants that are sold separately bc it is a little short , and also it will help with the warmth if it’s chilly out. I couldn’t be happier with this costume!

When this arrived I was a little worried because of how it was packaged. The plastic packaging that costumes usually come in was folded up. The costume was in a ball. The tail was also in a ball. The head piece still had packaging. Not sure if someone at Amazon was having a bad day….but it looked like it. The costume was fine and the wrinkles from the way it arrived are coming out. The costume is made of a very thin material, but it is really cute and had a good fit. The colors are amazing! My only complaint is the Velcro piece that you attach the tail to, is not secure and the threads are already coming out. I can sew that back on and make it more sturdy and it will be fine. The tail is beautiful. Like with any similar material, it snags very easy, so keep the Velcro piece folded together until you put it on the costume. Personally….I would have attached with buttons…but that would be difficult for the kids to remove. The head piece….is not like the picture. It doesn’t spread out. It’s stiff as a board. And the way it’s got the clip attached…I’m not seeing the benefit. I will probably remove the feathers and attach them to a headband. If I can…when I say they are stiff…..they are stiff with no movement. It is thin so if it’s cold where you are, you will want to wear something underneath. We are going to have a long sleeve black leotard and some teal shinny leggings, This is a great costume despite the two issues mentioned, which is why I could not give it 5 stares. I would recommend this. The colors are just beautiful!

I was a little hesitant purchasing this costume after reading some reviews, but my daughter insisted on having this costume for Halloween. I was 100% happy with this purchase! My daughter wore it twice for Halloween/parties. She still wears it around the house. Some reviews were negative because of the headpiece but it stayed perfectly in place in her hair with a couple extra bobby-pins. Super cute and fit her perfectly. Well worth the money.

The sizing is confusing when you get your bag. Make sure you use their size charts. I bought a small for my tall, yet petite 7.5y old. On the bag it says 4-6 in one spot and 3-4 years in another, so that was confusing. The headpiece is awful. I don't know if I'll be able to use it for Halloween. I may have to buy some feathers and try a new hairstyle. I can tell it is very cheaply made - I saw it was made in China even though on amazon it says made in USA. Some stitching came undone as she was trying it on today. I am hoping it will last on Halloween and then for play afterwards. Neckpiece doesn't stay up, will have to somehow attach to her hair, but she doesn't seem to mind. The outfit is so cute! Wish it was better made. I would pay more for a higher quality item, although the price was already quite high.

My daughter chose this costume after we couldn't find a blue macaw that suited her. The colors are Fantastic! I thought it was a little delicate so she wore it only on Halloween at school and for the evening. She won the most original costume contest at school and received compliments over and over throughout the neighborhood. It's very well made and will hold up for playtime dress up as well. My daughter is 4'6" and 90lbs. I ordered a large that fit her torso very well; I did safetypin the green shoulder straps with the purple straps to help them stay in place. We've gone back and forth over adding some sort of wire or boning to the tail as it didn't photograph as well as it looks in person but she does like to "flap" the tail. All in all a great costume.

My daughter who is ten got this for her Halloween costume. She loved it. Fit great. She did wear a long sleeve white shirt under it. One strap did tear. Isn't made for more than one or two uses! Would recommend for an older child.
