It’s totally my fault for not looking at the return policy so I thought a review might save someone else the trouble. We ordered this for a play my daughter is in and it was a little too big. We decided to order a medium and see if it fit better and then decide between the 2 and return whichever one didn’t fit the best. My mistake! I guess I should have done an exchange. In my opinion the medium is a bit too small so she needs something in between a medium and a large. However we have decided to go with the medium and I guess we’ll just keep the large for another time. ... show more

We couldn't find a smaller Vader costume, so we used this as our base. This was our major Christmas gift for our 3yr old Little Guy, so we really wanted it to be what he wanted. There were 2 things my son specified: 1 being a helmet. This doesn't come with a helmet, just a mask. We couldn't use the mask at all. So we replaced that with a voice changer helmet that my husband had (no, not had as a child, the one he purchased at some comic con). My husband winced as he cut off the voice changing box (too heavy with it on). Padded the helmet with foam so that the Little Guy could see out. The second thing he wanted were fake arms and fake legs. Easy...not a problem; they sell fake arms everywhere, right? After wracking our brains, we saw a Pin with a homemade costume that used soccer knee pads. We covered the Wilson logo with black vinyl and our Little Guy was satisfied with that. Please note that this does not come with gloves. Nor would those giant gloves pictured fit a toddler. I just got some black, stretchy cotton gloves for $1 at Walmart. Our LG is about 12" shy of the recommended height for this costume. We cut the legs and arms completely out. He has to wear a black shirt and pants underneath. Also shortened the cape and whatever those strips of cape on the sides are called. The shoulder pads/breast plate fits surprisingly well. The belt just ties, so it worked fine too. Please note, as well, that this doesn't come with a lightsaber. We found one reasonably priced at TJ Maxx. (Plus he received 4 others from various family members for Christmas.) It amazed me how much the men in our lives got into Christmas shopping this year; Star Wars really brings the shopper out in a man. Bottom line: it isn't complete. Even if you're using it for someone who fits it you're going to have to get other stuff. We ordered and returned a couple other brands and kept this one because it was the most complete and wearable. We would get it again, though: our LG was overjoyed. He wears it daily. If someone asks him his name, he tells them it is Darth Vader. ... show more
