My cat loves the flavor of any royal canin cat food. He's a big Maine coon who can be finicky, be is not picky when it comes to this. It did help his appetite control. It's a bit pricy, but if he'll eat it, I'm good with paying whatever.

Cat 1: —12 years old —always free-fed —no weight issues —8 lbs. (historical baseline ~6.8 lbs.; she gained some weight after she recovered from an accident and two surgeries) —5 weeks in: 7.6 lbs. —8 weeks in: 7.4 lbs. —10 weeks in: weight stable Cat 2: —~4 years old —will eat every chance she gets —15.4 lbs. baseline —5 weeks: 14.6 lbs. —8 weeks: 14 lbs. —10 weeks: 14.4 lbs. Both cats were free-fed diet cat food for slightly over 10 weeks. (I know, ideally I would have separated them and measured their food individually…) Both cats really liked the cat food (I think more than their normal Meow Mix), and both cats lost weight. Each bag of food lasted about a month. My only negative is that this is incredibly expensive. ... show more

I have introduced this toy cats diets slowly as is recommended when changing cat foods to avoid digestive sensitivities in cats. After 4 months of use there is no change other than an increase in their energy. No weightloss though. My cats were also somewhat finicky towards this and they are normally very flexible in what they eat. Your results could vary of course as many veterinarians carry and recommend this. ... show more
