  • Very smooth cut!
Size: 1/4"(Shank)*1-1/4"(Dia.)*3/8"(Depth)
This cuts a very smooth slot that is just a slight bit wider than 3/8. I set the calipers to 3/8 and they have VERY little movement. The slot would allow for a 3/8 piece of wood which would tighten up with the application of wood glue. Very pleased with the cut and finish left behind by the bit.

  • Nice Rabbeting Bit, Cuts Clean w/o Burning
Size: 1/4"(Shank)*1-1/4"(Dia.)*3/8"(Depth)
In my using it so far to make drawer boxes I have no complaints with this bit; it is sharp, cuts clean, and doesn't burn. Initially I was wishing it came with multiple bearings like another bit I have, but this way I can keep this one as is and use the other one for different configurations. A nice bit for a great price. ... show more

  • Great bits at a great price
Size: 1/2"(Shank)*1-3/8"(Dia.)*3/4"(Depth)
I own many KEENTECH bits and have been impressed with them all. They represent a great value/quality proposition. The bits including this one have .001 or less runout, on par with my more expensive Whiteside bits. The carbide is fairly thick and the brazing looks very good. I would definitely recommend this and any of their router bits. ... show more

  • Well built, sharp and accurate.
Size: 1/2"(Shank)*1-3/8"(Dia.)*1/2"(Depth)
I needed a beefy rabbeting bit for a large project, and I thought it would be prudent to go with a 1/2 inch shank, so I chose this one this one. Glad I did. I needed to make a large number of heavy duty mixed hardwood and pine drawers using rabbet and groove joinery. This bit held up very well. I was able to, taking my time, rout a full 1/2 by 1/2 inch rabbet cleanly in pine with one pass, and in red oak with two passes, letting the bit cool down after 10 rabbets or so. This bit is still sharp after 24 drawers. The bit is quite accurate and pretty heavy duty for the price. It was a nice addition to my shop. ... show more

  • Decent budget bit!
Size: 1/2"(Shank)*1-3/8"(Dia.)*1/2"(Depth)
Upon close inspection, this bit looks like it should hold up well. I have not gotten a chance to use it yet, and I will update when I do so. The accuracy of the carbide welds is decent, and the coating seems high quality. It is a handsome color in person with the shiny flecks in the paint. There are a few minor fit and finish blemishes, chips in the paint, a curled edge from the machining process, and machine marks on the top. In comparison with some American made bits I have, the fit and finish isn’t much different, just a little less refined. If this bit works as well as a more expensive one, those blemishes definitely make it worth it for the cut cost. Overall, after seeing this bit in person, I would likely buy it. Again, I need to run it, and I will add an update. ... show more

  • Attractive bit with sharp carbide.
Size: 1/2"(Shank)*1-3/8"(Dia.)*3/4"(Depth)
This is a pretty cool bit that you can use for rabbeting or for edge jointing. I had to take care getting it out of the case as it was gripped very tight by the plastic. Since I don't have anything to rabbet at the moment, I threw it into a router table and set it up for edge jointing. I tried it with some old flooring and some kiln dried hard maple. It chewed through the edge jointing task as if the wood wasn't even there. The mass and diameter of the bit made it erase 1/8th or 1/16th of wood per pass without a noise. In fact, I had to look at the vacuum adapter on the router fence to make sure wood was being taken off as it was so quiet. The teflon (epoxy?) finish is really quite nice in a world of router bits that are often just utilitarian. I didn't see any flaws on the carbide, and the bit was perfectly balanced in the table. The real test is how long the carbide keeps an edge, but the geometry of this bit means that it will be easy to sharpen the carbide with a diamond file. Only major quirk is that it is unclear whether the manufacturer sells a bearing kit for its rabbet bits. The photos show a larger bearing, but I'm not sure how to get one. ... show more

  • Great for a budget woodworker
Size: 1/2"(Shank)*1-1/4"(Dia.)*3/8"(Depth)
The media could not be loaded. This Rabbeting Router Bit from KEENTECH has demonstrated itself to be an excellent choice for a budget woodworker. The bit came very sharp and in a reusable protective plastic case that is easy to open, close, and store. So far, I have only used it for some pinewood projects, but it cut through the pine like butter. I did have a couple feed issues where it caught the wood and left some nasty marks, but that was probably operator error. It's not a problem since I left the pieces long and can trim them down. The price at the time of this review was about $25 which means this bit is an excellent choice for the causal woodworker or for someone on a budget. I expect it will have a decent life expectancy at the rate I use it. ... show more

  • Sharp, accurate, and priced very well!
Size: 1/2"(Shank)*1-3/8"(Dia.)*1/2"(Depth)
This is my third Keentech bit and I have been consistently impressed by all of their products so far. This bit is no exception to that rule! A few specific thoughts: - Before using this on an actual project, I tested it on a rough scrap of pine (picture attached). Unsurprisingly, the routed the pine easily., but the quality of the routing job is what really impressed me! As the picture shows, the wood was rough and some areas were torn out, but every surface that the bit touched is perfectly smooth (the only tool marks to be found are at either end where I clumsily engaged and disengaged the bit from the wood, leaving a small divot). - The presentation of Keentech router bits has improved over time. This one looked great in the packaging (pictured) and would definitely be a great gift! - At the time of this review, this bit is priced at $26.99 with an 8% off coupon, bringing the price down to $24.83. This is a VERY competitive price (particularly given the quality of this bit). ... show more
