  • Accurate Carbide End Mill
Size: 3mm(Shank)*1.5mm(Dia.)*5mm(Depth)
Product Reviewed: KEENTECH CNC Solid Carbide Spiral Plunge Down-Cut Router Bit, 2 Flute - 3mm Shank, 1.5mm DIA for $19. TL;DR; clean cutting in aluminium @ 2500RPM I have an aging Mill Drill that I tested this on. Nice little cutter. It makes me pretty nervous to use but I recently got a collet set to give this a test drive in aluminum using IPA as a cutting fluid. I checked my collet run out briefly and it looks to be around 0.005” so getting a 1.5mm slot cut cleanly seemed challenging but it worked out fine. I measured the result with calipers which can barely get in the slot then again with feeler gauges. I get slightly over 1.5mm in both cases. My HF calipers read 1.52 and by feeler gauge 1.5mm was loose and 1.55mm was tight so I expect I have 1.52-1.53 mm approximately which seems about right for my spindle run out. The pics show the end mill beside the LHS slot it cut in a bit of scrap. I’m fairly new to carbide end mills so I’m not much of a value judge but this little end mill performed great. 5 Stars no complaints. How I review: Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points. - 0 for value but I try to provide guidance -0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel -0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on execution I select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings. ... show more

  • High quality carbide
Size: 3/8"(Shank)*3/8"(Dia.)*1"(Depth)
I’ve had a number of Keentech bit now, and I have not been disappointed by any of them. The quality of carbide appears to be quite high. It’s sharp, Cotswald, has great chip, discharge, and very little blowout. I have used this in both handheld router, and on a router table. I have yet to be disappointed by anything I had bought from this brand. ... show more

  • Good while it lasted...
Size: 3mm(Shank)*1.5mm(Dia.)*6mm(Depth)
Sadly, I can't really claim to know how long this will last as it only made it about 1" before I snapped it.... Totally my fault, I crashed it.... However the 1" pass I cut seems to have a good surface finish. Just make sure that you retract the tool high enough to clear your clamps. Don't be like me, be better. ... show more

  • Sharp, clean cut
Size: 6mm(Shank)*6mm(Dia.)*19mm(Depth)
Cutter is being used in a low quantity production environment, mostly for profiling .05" thick aluminum plate. The down-cut results in less vibrating, and therefore a cleaner cut and less of a burr. Fully recommend for most materials.

  • Really nice bit. Cheaper options available
Size: 6mm(Shank)*6mm(Dia.)*25mm(Depth)
I'm using this to mill plywood, which has a bad habit of breaking out the top if you use a standard up-cut bit. This bit works great for that. I'm not getting any splintering or tear-out in my cuts. This bit cuts cleanly. Now... as for the cost, at $32 it is overpriced. You can get the same bit here on Amazon from different vendors much less money. I've used the other bits, and they both have the same performance. I don't see what the extra cost is getting you here. ... show more

  • Works great on ABS
Size: 1/4"(Shank)*1/16"(Dia.)*1/4"(Depth)
I'll admit making ABS end panels isn't the most demanding application, but this cutter performs well. The down-cut flutes keep the panels from pulling out of their fixture during cutting.

  • Cut brass, stayed sharp
Size: 3mm(Shank)*1.5mm(Dia.)*5mm(Depth)
I gave this bit a test on my CNC mill using some brass plate. It cut nicely and stayed sharp. The other bits I have from Keentech have worked well and seem to be a good value. One thing I did not like: The bit was loose and flopping around in the plastic holder - sloppy QC at the factory before shipping. The bit was still in good condition though. ... show more
