Features

  • HIGH QUALITY NATURAL MATERIALS: made from carefully selected peat and coconut fiber. Peat can effectively retain fertilizers and water, providing stable nutrients for plant growth. Coconut shells have excellent breathability and permeability, which can prevent root rot. Its pH value is close to neutral, suitable for the vast majority of plants, ensuring that your plants grow vigorously.
  • ACCURATE FITTING SIZE: Please confirm the size to fit your planting equipment. The size of this growth sponge after soaking is approximately 1.4 inches (3.5cm) in diameter at the top, 1 inch (2.5cm) in diameter at the bottom, and 1.6 inches (4cm) in height. It can adapt to various brands of small household smart flower pots, as well as professional gardening brand planting equipment. Both desktop hydroponic machines and multi-layer hydroponic towers can be easily placed.
  • SIMPLE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION: No need for complex preparation. Just soak it in water and it can be used immediately, saving a lot of time and effort. It is equipped with planting holes for easy seed positioning and significantly improves seedling efficiency, making it easy for even beginners in horticulture to get started.
  • MULTI SCENARIO APPLICATION: not only suitable for various hydroponic systems, but also for traditional potted seedling cultivation. Sponge transplantation can reduce root damage and improve seedling survival rate. It is also an ideal choice for plant cutting propagation, which can effectively promote the rooting of cuttings, especially suitable for succulent plants, roses, etc.
  • ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND SUSTAINABLE: Made from natural and renewable peat and coconut fiber, it is environmentally friendly. Let you contribute to environmental protection while enjoying the fun of gardening.

  • Works for Rise gardens
I'm a long-time Rise hydroponic gardener. I've been experimenting with these Metcemt grow sponges lately, since they're much less expensive than the Rise brand. Size: the width is pretty similar, but these are about 0.5" shorter than the Rise pods. It means that they sit lower in the plastic cups and don't crest the tops. Because the Rise gardens don't have fluctuations in water level, this hasn't been an issue. Germination and growth: seeds sprout quickly, as usual (25-72 hours). In the Meycemt pods, the seedlings thrive for a few days on filtered water, but stall before they grow the second pair of leaves. I've started putting them into the Rise garden with nutrient water at this point. They grow slowly for a couple of days, but then take off and thrive similar to the plants in the Rise pods. So, seedling stage takes a few days longer in the Meycemt sponges than in the Rise ones. Note: I've only been growing lettuce and basil, so my experimentation is limited. All in all, I'm happy with the value and quality. I'll likely continue using these pods because of the price and the ease of purchase. ... show more

  • Foam doesn't work when you're trying to use soil to grow rich through for me
I wasted my money. I couldn't get these to work for me

  • Half the size of what my machine takes depthwise, work, but problematic.
These are good. They're not just a sponge; it seems to be actual peat moss. At any rate, these are growing the seeds I put in. I soaked them and then shoved them into the plastic cages with my machine. In the future, I will put them in the cages and then soak them because some of the sides started breaking off. It's been a few days, and I already have some seeds growing. If the lack of depth on these ends up being an issue, I will edit this review. So far, I am happy with these pods. Edit: I took it down to 3 stars from 5. With the pods being so short, you have to make sure that you never let the water supply get down because the seedlings will dry out very quickly. Also, I like that I only got pods and not all the other stuff that a lot of other products throw in. I don't need tons of plastic cages and paper stickers. I just want the pods, and that's what this product gives you. ... show more

  • Not good for taking cuttings
These don't work well for cuttings to root them. I did not try them with seeds. But they turned green quickly when kept moist when I took cuttings. All the cuttings just withered and didn't take root like they do in soil. I might save the rest for use in my hydroponics setup.

  • work in multiple trays
I can’t imagine gardening without these. I have seedling trays with a capillary mat, as well as hydroponic trays. These sponges fit perfectly in both. They are dry when they arrive, but rehydrate in a minute or so. Once in the tray, I don’t have to worry about keeping them wet; they absorb better than the tall, skinny ones I was using. There is a hole on top of the sponge where you drop the seed in. You don’t have to cover it up, as the sponge will keep it moist enough. This gives you the opportunity to observe the seed and you will know when it’s sprouting. The seed holes in these sponges are larger as well. I tried four o clock seeds in them (these are somewhat large seeds) and they found the room to send out a root and a shoot. This sponge is a great growing medium; my fastest growing seeds are already sending roots to the outer edges of the sponges – time to transplant! One last thing I really love about these sponges: ease of transportation of seedlings. I have my seed starter trays in the house where it’s warm, but once they’ve sprouted and have a few leaves, I move them to the garage. This time of year it does get cool, so they have a grow light there. Previously I was potting them in the house then taking them to the garage, but more than once the wind blew away my topsoil during the trip. So now I just grab the sponges that I want to put in pots, put them in a deep plastic tray, and transport them that way. The sponge retains plenty of water for the trip and they arrive in perfect condition to pot them in the garage. These sponges have made my seed starting much easier. I highly recommend them! ... show more

  • Size matters with smart grows
Nothing wrong with these other than size. I had hoped to use in my smart garden, yeah no, these are just to small to work effectively.

  • Hydroponic Success Awaits! These are perfect!
I'm thrilled to have received my 50-pack of hydroponic pods today! I've been eager to start my hydroponic garden and these pods are exactly what I needed. The price was great, and I can't wait to get started using them. I'm particularly excited about the versatility of these pods. They're compatible with a variety of hydroponic systems, including Click and Grow and Aerogarden. This means I can use them to grow a wide range of plants, from herbs to vegetables. I'm also impressed with the quality of the pods. They're made from a durable material that should last for many uses. I'm confident that they will provide a healthy and supportive environment for my plants to thrive. I'll be sure to update this review once I've had a chance to use the pods for a while. In the meantime, I'm very optimistic that they will help me grow a successful and bountiful hydroponic garden. ... show more
