Update 4/11/23: I got this in the dark blue and there was a stronger, fish-like smell that I didn't experience on the AB Pink or Dark Green, but I've smelled much worse on other bags. The blue is very denim-like, which I love. The Fern Green was too close in tone and color to the Dark Green so I ended up returning it. It is only very slightly lighter in color. Update 4/4/23: I tried this bag again in the green color (darker one) and aside from a few small threads poking out, it was absolutely PERFECT! This green is such a great alternative to black or gray as an everyday neutral. I'm waiting for the AB Pink to arrive next. These may be worth starting a collection for because, for years, I've been looking for a backpack purse that doesn't require me to downsize what I carry every day or change out of my go-to organizer. This is the first one I've tried that fits the bill. My large 11-pocket nylon purse organizer from Timewall fits great. It's one of those tapered ones that is about 12 inches at the bottom and 15 inches at the top. Last thing: there was no strong or repulsive smell on this green bag! This bag is such a great massive size and shape, but the A-Red was dull in color and there were loose threads everywhere and areas where you can see the panels ripping away from each other. The A-Purple one...oh man, the color is absolutely positively LOVELY! I fell HARD for that ON SIGHT and immediately picked up my Bridawn organizer from my current bag and put it in the purple backpack. The shape it took was absolute perfection. But then when I looked at it closer, I noticed the same loose threads and pulling away of the panels, and even small scratches where the color was removed to reveal the material underneath. I was so disappointed!!! I really wanted to be able to use it for a conference I'm attending this weekend and am saddened that it was in such poor condition :(. The material on the Purple was softer and more malleable than the Red. The Red was stiffer and more structured. I'm considering trying again for the Purple in the hopes that I will get one in better condition. Note: these backpacks are pretty heavy when empty. I have not one complaint so far. I am in love with this bag and may purchase in another color. *Update* The day after I gave the rating is when I noticed that one of the straps that I only use once or twice in the short time that I've had this purse is slightly torn on each side where the strap is attached.
