The necklace isn't terrible, but it's not what I had hoped. As other reviewers have noted, it's flat, not round. It's also very lightweight and feels cheap. On the plus side, tho, the Byzantine links are nicely done and they don't kink up like some of my other pieces do. The clasp looks good and is secure. Although I wish it were heavier, it's comfortable to wear. The box is also suitable for gift purposes. Maybe I'm being overly fussy, but I was hoping to be wowed and not just satisfied. Luckily, I bought this as a deal of the day, and I think the sale price is probably more reasonable than the regular price. If anyone else is thinking about this necklace and isn't in a hurry, I'd definitely recommend putting it in your cart or a wish list and waiting for a price drop notification. ... show more

Editing: I did end up returning this necklace. It is pretty, but the flat side made it impossible for me to wear. It kept flipping over so the flat side was up, which made me crazy. I wore it twice. Back it went. That might not be the case for everyone, so I'm not saying it's a horrid piece, it just doesn't work for me. I'll be able to wear this necklace with everything. I've wanted a Byzantine chain since seeing one a friend had a few years ago. They are expensive and not easy to find, and I'm picky, so I've waited. When I saw this one during Prime Days I jumped on it! I am happy, but not thrilled, with it. Nowhere in the description does it say that it is FLAT on one side. My fault for not reading any reviews, because obviously I am not the first to bring it up. So while I won't return it, I am not as happy as I was expecting to be when I opened the package. I love the Byzantine link and I don’t think anyone sells better Byzantine jewelry than Ross-Simons. I bought this to go with my sterling silver earrings and ring. Now I have a beautiful set. The necklace is beautiful and flawless. I feel like it’s a good value for the price. I noticed some complaining about it being flat on one side but it honestly does not bother me at all.
