I really wanted to love these. I bought them as a replacement for some plastic take and toss cups and loved the fact that they were metal. The problem that I've run into is the lids mold so easily!! I meticulously clean every nook and cranny of that lid and then run it through the dishwasher and still have to rewash lids regularly because I find little spots of mold. ... show more

We had a mish mash of plastic cups and it felt like I was washing 100 cups a day. Some had lids, some didn’t, we could never find the right lid, or the right straw, and no one knew which cup was theirs. I purchased these and ditched the plastic ones & life is easier! The color coding is great, because each kid picks a color in the morning & that is their cup for the day, so dishes have gone down significantly. I like that they can be used with or without the lids. The tops are very secure - I have one kid that routinely knocks drinks over & we haven’t had a spill yet with these. They’re easy to wash since they are dishwasher safe. All parts are very durable and not showing any wear after rigorous use. The only con is that children sometimes need assistance getting the lids on, as they have to be stretched over the lip of the cup. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Someone else mentioned in their review that the colored pieces are actually separate rubber covers that you need to put on, so it was helpful to know that ahead of time. That could be a con for some people, but for me it's a pro. Anyone with small kids knows that kids tend to gravitate towards their favorite colors, then when that one breaks, you have to find a replacement. But with these removable covers, it's easily fixed by removing the favorite color cover from the broken one (if that happens), and putting it onto another cup. Not that these will break easily, because they seem pretty sturdy, but just in case. One more thing that might be important to note, is the lack of a pin-hole that's present in every other travel cup I've seen. Yes, you can open the straw hole to make your "air hole", but the plug can get in the way as you are opening and closing it around the main latch. I guess the plus about that is those with really small children can get a little more spill protection since drinking from the mouth-piece with the straw plug closed holds the liquid back a lot and almost requires the kid to suck to get the drink out. With the straw plug open, the liquid flows out freely for the old kids to easily drink. ... show more
